The most extraordinary secluded retreat I've ever been to. All the architecture blends into outdoor environment. Extremely idyllic, peaceful and picturesque. We'll nestled into the landscape. Fully immerses you to the conservancy. Untamed wildernesses where you connect with nature. Done brilliantly.

Lewa house is hidden on an elevated position for great views. There is a massive shared living space/atrium that feels homely with intricate decorations and trinkets that have a story behind them. Rooms were exotic and tastefully decorated. Food was lovely with ingredients from the garden and milk from the cows. We had dinner outdoors in the stars facing the outdoors. Service was personalised and we felt more like family friends/guests rather than just users of the place. Our guide Joseph always had a smile and also was passionate about wildlife which meant game drives with him was always exciting. Would recommend minimum of 3 days stay to get the best out of this superb place.

Wildlife first: no stone was left unturned to see wildlife by their guide, Rufus, best wildlife guide we ever had. We were not necessarily aiming to see the Big Five, as we also greatly appreciate seeing the Small 20+. Rufus did succeed, however, beside the Small 20+, to not just show us the Big Five during our 3-day stay, but also the Northern Five (look it up, if you don't know them).
Acommodation: luxurious, but always taking into account the natural experience. Rooms are roomy, large bed, from which a straight view of the wild landscape across several tens of kilometers, inside walls artfully curved and all painted in earthtones, outside a private veranda. Solar panels provide juice.
Food: Rooms are not many, allowing for the up to some 15 guests to dine together in a large livingroom ambience that you would imagine Hemingway would approve of. Nature and history books strewn around, also near the very place, lit in evenings. Sitting area with very comfy chairs open to the outside lawn and trees provides wide views of landscape, with many wild birds visiting within reach.
Food: is gourmet (including inventive pre-meal snacks), with no more needing to be set. Owner joins at dinner and entertains with riveting stories of living with wildlife. One morning we set out early to see animals at sunrise (lounging lions and cheetahs at a few meters). Then we were driven up and up, and around a bend, and there was breakfast laid out on a table under an acia, with even a choice of various dishes, with unrivaled views.
When about to be driven back across an age-old lavastream to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy entrance, where our car was parked, all staff (cooks, guides, owner) stood outside the Lewa House to waive us goodbye.
Stay is not cheap, but more than worth it. Very very highly recommended.
