Watching the hippos outside in the gardens after midnight is always the highlight of our trip. Very calm n peaceful place. We took one of the newly renovated places and the bathrooms were was very tastefully done up.

One of the best resorts in Kenya particularly who are enjoying wildlife. Right on the bank of Lake Naivasha and even you can have a boat ride in the lake from the resort. As usual like other Sopa Lodges the location and the rooms are very good. The rooms are huge and specious and the ambiance is too good and rustic. The in the night from room itself you can watch some deer and Hippos and Giraffes

I visited this lodge during the second week of February. I would like to give 4 rating and not 5 because of the rooms. Even though ,the hotel staff say that the room is renovated, I didn't get that feel and it is very far from the dining place. If you want to view wildlife ( hippos, waterbucks, zebras) from your room, then the room is going to be far from the reception and dining area. Food is good ,not great. In the night, there will be people to escort you to and from the dining area to the room because of wildlife grazing nearby.

Quite possibly my favourite lodge and place that we visited whilst in Kenya. The wild zebras, giraffes, monkeys, waterbucks in the grounds are incredible whilst the hippos that graze the grass in the evening are a highlight! The food was also good with lots of variety.

The rooms are spacious with doors leading into the grounds. The boat trip is also a great addition to a stay at this lodge. I would return in a heartbeat! Absolutely love this place!

A very nice place in general! Amazing environment, only issue is the food. It's quite basic. Otherwise very nice!

Absolutely wonderful place to stay in a very relaxed atmosphere. I'll recommend a boat ride which takes you close to the hippos and many interesting birds. Also a walk in the grounds is great. Guards escort you to and from your cottage in the evening as the hippos grass on the grounds.

It's a beautiful if overpriced hotel.we spent 3 nights over Christmas and found the drinks rather expensive with sodas at 200 shillings. Activities were also charged at exorbitant rates it made more sense to drive the children to buffalo mall in town for entertainment. For such a beautiful place it was disappointing

Old world style desperately in need of a contemporary update. On the positive side it had an impressive main building and lots of wildlife wandering around. But every place on this lake had wildlife. The staff are all very nice but basic tasks end up being very difficult or slow. Checkout was a shambles and it took 3 hours to get bags from the room to reception. Sopa feels like a place where the management is asleep at the whee and the staff are trying their best to make up for it. Little problems with the maintenance of rooms and lack of a fan to cool down in summer make this a place I don't want to visit too often.

The view from here is absolutely breathtaking. You get to see a variety of animals, all going about their business, usually eating, eating and more eating.

First international travel destination and I am amazed and highly pleased with this experience, the sights, the staff, and the food was also great. The place itself is a true work of art! Well worth it!!

Beautiful setting and gardens, large rooms, enormous bathrooms.
There are hyppos, monkeys, zebras, buffalos and other animals walking around, which makes it a unique experience.
The buffet was quite normal, and not all the food agreed with us.

it's okay. I don't know what all the "rave" is about Naivasha. If you want a peaceful time where you read and look at the animals from a fair distance by all means go but it's not the coast of Kenya.

If you are nature junkie, this is the place. Human activity that hasn't interrupted the ecosystem.

Waterbucks (and occasionally giraffes) will wall you to lunch. Nights are simply breathtaking, with giraffes roaming all over.

The idea of bumping into a hippo at night is freaky scary though.
