My mum went to get her eyes tested there today. The examination took place and then she was told she couldn't get her prescription to take away. This is scandalous as it forces the customer to buy products only from this company. When I came back to demand the prescription, the doctor said that she only paid for a consultation. I explained that all clinics provide a prescription upon consultation and he said that wasn't the case with city. He then said I should have come with my mum to find out before the consult. But the place has no clear price display stand at the shop! He then said that if I wanted a prescription it would be an additional Ksh 500. Such a quick turnaround. Upon more insistence that this should be in the consultation, he then told his receptionist to write a prescription before storming into his examination room. The 'prescription' was a hand written note on City Optics letterhead, which is what he had wanted Ksh 500 for. Seriously unhappy at the way the elderly can get exploited here. There should be a price display. There should be transparency. Avoid if you can.
I found that some of their products are a lot more expensive than elsewhere. Make sure that you check with other opticians before purchasing here.
Professional eye exams, quick service, and helpful staff make getting glasses or contacts painless. Glasses can be delivered the same day, and prices are affordable. Be aware that negotiating is an option.
Very professional optician.
