Authentic Ethiopian cuisine and setup. I liked it! However, I felt like waiters should be more attentive and wait on customers

Quiet place, very authentic taste. Having lived for several years in Addis Abeba I perceive this restaurant taste wise as the most closest to what I’ve experienced in Ethiopia. Friendly and attentive staff. Although the coffee ceremony is not a real ceremony the quality of coffee is good and a decent finish of your dinner. Recommend!

If looking to explore Ethiopian culture and cuisines then this is the place to be. I visited it for the first with some friends and I loved every bit about the place. The surroundings are very quiet. Serves most Ethiopian menus and fine coffee. The platters are very nice and be sure to come with an empty stomach..you never get to finish them..
It is located along Muguga Green, off, Waiyaki Way, Nairobi

It's a pretty serene area. Quiet for that intimate date night. 😊 Very close to the public terminal and cabbies are available around the clock

Love this place. Went twice in 3 days. The combo platters are great! Recommend the ones that come with the cheese and greens mix. Went on weekday nights, never a problem to get a table even with big groups.

    Amazing Ethiopian food.
Don't be fooled by the one person meal on the menu, I have only managed to finish this one person platter only once.
It's affordable and the food is great.
This is the perfect place to take a large group of family and friends for food.

If there is one aspect most of us agree on, is the wonderful meals that are prepared to perfection! The ambiance is wonderful and it makes you feel like you're dining with nature.

A perfect place to share spectacular meals in a homely set-up. Love it!!!

I absolutely loved this place. It was my very first visit to Addis and I wanted a feel of Ethiopian culture and cuisine. Here you get both and it won't break your bank either. You'll be surprised at how many cultural dances can be presented in a night. I say 7pm should find you seated so that you can have the best seat if you don't make reservations. It's a show worth seeing in the front seat and there's no extra charge. Just pay for your meal. By the end of the night you'll feel like you want to go back and should dinner not work for you you can still settle for a lunch and enjoy the cultural cuisine.

Great for Ethiopian food and the best for meat related foods. The service is great, there is ample parking and even a kids play ground.
It gets busy in the evenings and weekends.

A group of us ate dinner here and had a mild headache the following morning with no signs of food poisoning. Turns out that food could dehydrate someone to that level- according to one of my friends. A lovely place to hang out for dinner.

It was my first Ethiopian food experience and it was very good. It's best to go there with a bigger group, as you can share plates of food. Good service and nice atmosphere.

Good authentic Ethiopian food! Large portions with a great variety to pick from and a good taste. A fair price for a night out. Good atmosphere but not the appearance of the building and surrounding could use some work. Definitely worth going for Ethiopian food!

Absolute yumminess, for 1/3 of European prices. Traditional setting, crockery, and utensils, huge portions, great atmosphere and great quick service. It is located slightly out of the way but worth the trip and search.

Take a variety of dishes (a combination), especially if you have never tried Ethiopian food. Also, try the coffee, it's delicious and comes with a burning incense/coal for atmosphere and with pop corn.

One of my favorites in Africa. Indian was my favorite food until I tried Ethiopian and it was here at Abyssinia. Service is not prompt, so come with spare time, but food is worth the wait. The ambiance is rather rustic, but I guess that's one of the things that give the place character. Often go with my partner and one of our best friends so we ask for the mixed plate for 3 with lamb. Dunno which of the dishes is the best since they are all so different, but starting from the presentation, it is good, real good. No one will hurry you to leave by the end of your meal, and you may even ask for coffee that they'll bring accompanied with popcorn, for an after meal chat with your party. If ever in Nairobi, I'd say it is a good option to try.
