Just minutes by train or car from Kansai airport and close to numerous shopping outlets. While not close to central Osaka, being right next to Rinku-town station was convenient. The room was a little dated but was clean and comfortable nonetheless. The amazing views made up for it.

Stat Gate hotel is so close to the train station that you can go anywhere by train . It is also offer a free bus service to the airport, receptionist do speak English and service is good.

The room was not verry clean, the hotel say that we have indor sweam pool acces but you must to pay to sweam! And there is no bottlle of water in the room! So expensive without service!

Service was very good, as is typical in Japan. Rooms were a bit worn, with stained carpets and linens past their prime, and there was a pervasive smell of smoke despite the room being non-smoking. Overall not a bad experience.

Star Gate Hotel is a very good option for travelers in transit through Osaka. Our family of 4 stayed here 1 night on our way to Kyoto, having arrived to Kansai in the evening (and trains to Kyoto originate from Kansai so it was not worth the time & expense of staying in Osaka proper). The hotel, like many accommodations in Japan, are dated and tired-looking, but perfectly clean and still well-run. Check-in/out was very fast and professional. Our high-floor corner room was spacious and offered a nice 2-exposure view of the bay. The hotel offers free shuttle bus service to/from airport, but it is also a very short metro ride away. The only places of interest near Star Gate are an outlet mall and small recreation zone (bowling & ferris wheel), but again, most people will stay for its proximity to planes & trains. Note that if you're a late arrival, the hotel's restaurants all close by 8pm, and there's not much within walking distance, but we did find a place to eat in the office tower portion of the building. The breakfast buffet is OK - a few Western options too - but not worth the money.

The staff is very friendly and the Hotel has a beautiful lobby. The rooms however are not how they appear in the photos. They are small and outdated. The furniture and carpet is very old. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The views from the top floor are amazing but the only choice you have for dinner is a 5 course meal that is expensive and not very good. The wait service is top notch.
