Nice clean hotel, rooms very small but this is expected anyway. Good value compared to others in Kyoto. Really enjoy the Japanese inspired breakfast.

We stayed in this hotel in May, 2016. It's located just south of the massive Kyoto Station, in Kyoto. Being close to the station means that anyone who stays in the hotel has all of the stores, restaurants, etc. readily available to them. In addition, the Aeon mall is a few blocks down the street. Despite being close to the station, the hotel is very quiet. We were never bothered by station noises.

The hotel room is small. Small enough such that you can't walk around the room while a suitcase is open on the floor. There's no dresser or other storage unit. There is a small (probably 12" deep) desk with a stool that's not particularly usable. But that's the only negative to the room. The A/C in the room works incredibly well, which was great since it was very humid outside. Wet clothing would dry out quickly. The bathroom is a typical small Japanese bathroom with the usual fancy toilet, including butt-washing and bidet capabilities. I'm 6'3" and I fit in the shower.

The breakfast was very good too. It's a nice mixture of Western and Japanese breakfast items.

I'd definitely stay here again.

Location is perfect for station (a fantastic place by the way - visit the evening light shows on the steps up to roof garden) and Sunrise Tours pickup office. Rooms are rather small but otherwise very good, and breakfast also good. Many eating places and shops nearby.

I don't think you can beat the location of the hotel in terms of getting around Kyoto and it's surrounds. The breakfast was great and ran smoothly, but it could be a bit of a wait for lift, whether you were trying to leave or get to level 2. Laundry services are always appreciated - it was just the luck of the draw as to whether any machines were available or not. Bed was super comfortable!

We loved the convenience of staying so close to Kyoto Station at such an affordable price. It was a great location, and convenient to public transportation which we used extensively during our visit. However, we found the room quite small: we could not even fit two carry-on type suitcases (small ones!) in our room unless we stacked them on top of each other. While it was fine for our two night stay, it was a little inconvenient.

The staff can communicate very well with us through English. The bed is comfortable. However, the room size is quite small.

Just on the south side of Kyoto station, maybe a 5 minute straight walk to the northern side (where all the important bus for kyomizudera, kinkakuji, etc. Start). It has been recently renovated, it's clean and quiet. The reception staff speak good English (not a given in japan) and the morning buffet has both European and Asian dishes. There is a coin operated laundry. Looks like most of the guests are tourists, and the hotel does not feel like your typical business hotel. The rooms are a bit cramped, but still larger than most business hotel I've been to.

I can't say that I loved it since there was no onsen and I'm from Thailand, and we take our hotels really seriously there. However, compared to most hotels in Japan, this is certainly one of the best. The location makes it really convenient since it's just across Kyoto Station. The staffs are really service minded. The rooms are clean and not too small. There is a decent breakfast buffet but their options are quite limited. You'll get bored of it after a couple of days. Also, the only way around the building is through 2 elevators. They are reasonably quick, but if there is a lot of traffic, be prepared to wait.

Perfect spot right beside the Kyoto station and city bus station where you can get a 1 day local bus pass for 500¥ to visit the entire tourist spots in kyoto. Food and journey all are available inside the train station so this location of hotel is perfect. The rooms r quite big and comfy beds. Breakfast was good.
