There is a mall on the other side of a nearby tram station that is pretty amazing. Plenty of food options within walking distance. The onsen is also very relaxing. 10/10 would do again.

The hotel rooms are spacious and are comfortable. Good for Kids because of the room size. The public bath was great. However NO INTERNET was available in the room as was promised when booked and advertised as well. There was NO connectivity AT ALL. Also staff were non-responsive to other requests about services available. The location is GREAT as it is close to the station, but I feel that the HOTEL doesn't care about reviews because Kyoto gets enough tourism traffic not to matter. If you need the Internet to plan trips or excursions, this hotel is not ideal.

Using this hotel dated Jan 18. As first as I walked into the hotel around 11:40pm, 2 women were at the front desk, one of them immediately gave me a dirty look liked I did something to her. During the time of checking in, she continously using her commanding tone with her flat face talking to me. After checking in, she left the hotel maybe off her shift. Maybe I was holding her of going home. It was rare to see Japanese people so rude and unprofessional. Then I went up to the room but it was western style not the tatami type I reserved. Called the front desk for a change, unlike the other person, the night shift lady was very nice with caring attitude and she did the swop for me.
Will not book this hotel again because don't want to be treated like a criminal.
