Well maintained. Animal shows are entertaining and not to mention plenty of interactive stuff for kids to learn. You should check out the most famous attraction here - the whale shark. Aside from that you'd also surely love the stingray experience. Try touching one during your visit.

Great place to explore to begin with. Entrance to aquarium will first lead to Level 7, and slowly make your way down thru the levels of viewing the variety of beautiful, exotic and unique sea creatures. My favorite part of visiting the aquarium was the petting zone, where we were allowed to touch the sharks and sting rays. They also had special exhibitions where we saw the strange, yet unique species of sea creatures. The aquarium also had allocated certain times to let visitors watch the staff feed the animals. In addition, they also had a cafe that served mouthwatering ice-cream. 5/5 will recommend to all tourists visiting Osaka.

This is a great aquarium, a place with so much to see even for regular aquarium fans like me. The sheer size and the variety of fish should be enough to persuade any visitor of Osaka to come to this attraction at least once.
The downside of the place, though, is that there are simply too many people at any given time. I have never been here in the evening, but during the mornings and the day, it is very hard to enjoy any single tank because of the various people taking pictures, recording a video or having a simple chat with his/her company. You can't blame them though, there are no rules against enjoying a tank for yourself :P
The other thing I found missing here was that being such a gigantic aquarium, this is more like a 'bazaar' should I say of fish, rather than a coherent story. This shouldn't be a matter for people who just enjoy seeing a good variety of fish, though.response / report this review -

Best aquarium I have ever visited. The exhibits were plentiful and varying. It includes animals such as penguin, sea lion and dolphin. There were even live feeding sessions where we could see the animals performing tricks which is definitely a must see! Moreover, special exhibits showcased fishes that have weird / abnormal body shape or features. It is definitely a must go if you are in Osaka.

Beautiful aquarium. One of the best. Highly recommend it if you are in Osaka. It's setup based on region of the world and had aquariums ranging from the Great Barrier Reef to Antarctica. Admission was 2300 yen per person. Feeding times for the tanks are listed and happen several times a day. Late morning to early afternoon is the ideal time to go for feedings.

One of the best aquarium in the world. The animals are really well treated. Can be reached through green line (central station) taxi cost around 30 U.S.D. from central station. It's definitely a must come if you like marine. If you book early you don't have to wait for the line, otherwise the ticket line was about 20 minutes.
Amazing marine animals across the world are gathered here!!!!!! The ticket is around 2300 Yen for adult. (It's Nothing comparing to the amount of money they spent in this)response / report this review -

Such an amazing place. A definite must go in Osaka, especially if you have young kids, are photography enthusiast and like to experience sea life. They have good variety of sea animals and every animal can be seen clearly at one place or another. If you cannot see any particular species from a place, don't worry just move forward, cause the same animal can be seen from a different view point in the aquarium.

Gorgeous, very well laid out, and huge! It took me three hours to get through the place alone. There are English translations for a lot of it, but not everything, though the Japanese is child friendly and thus easy to understand if you're a learner. As one of the largest aquariums in the world, it is absolutely worth a visit if you're in Osaka.

It has a large collection of sea mammals and other sea creatures. You can look at the same animals on different levels as the tanks are 3 floors deep. Quite a few of the animals interacted with visitors voluntarily through the glass and there is a touching area for stingray and little sharks.
Tips:
- Notice the feeding time at the entrance area.
- Get a stamp book from the gift shop on the way in for additional fun.
- Lights inside the exhibits would be turned off earlier in winter time, go earlier for better photos.
- The Aquarium gift shop is quite lovely, but if you would like a larger range of products not affiliated with the Aquarium, there is a bigger gift shop on the way out exiting the paid area.response / report this review -

Great experience! You take a gigantic escalator to the top and a unique adventure begins! You start at the top and slowly descend as if you are above the ocean and descend further into the ocean. The top floor is all animals above ocean floor, as you descend further into the aquarium you aquatic life at the depths you would normally see them, as if you were a scuba diver.
Advice:
-go at odd hours, make sure you avoid the weekends unless you like big crowds.
-We went at 2:00 PM on a weekday and it wasn't bad, you spend long enough inside that it'll be sunset and the aquarium lights will turn on by the time you finish.
-Getting to the aquarium itself can be difficult unless you have a guide. Be careful of your train locations!response / report this review
