This was a really good hike. I know people have recommended starting the hike from kifune side. I disagree with this as starting from that end is a very difficult climb. The roots and rocks makes going up much more difficult. The view is simply stunning and although some are saying that this is just a temple I again disagree.. people seems to forget the stunning view of nature. The tree roots that's are expose gives an eerie and ancient looking forest as you hike. However I would recommend good shoes if you are going to hike. As it starts off paved and easy from kurama but gets difficult as you continue up the woody natural path.
A steep beautiful hike through the forest to the various temples. Beautiful views. Highly recommended. There is also a cable car available for ¥200 if you don't feel like hiking.
A nice temple and the train out from Kyoto is scenic. Unfortunately, when we visited, we weren't able to make the hike to Kibune because of a fallen tree. Which made the journey out feel a bit wasted as it is just a nice temple.
A good planner would be to climb these steps for good exercise, then look around the whole temple. Afterwards, you can have a nice dip in the nearby hot spring spa.
I advice to do the all treck very early morning starting from around Kifune shrine and stop by the nice small boudhiste temple : ideal for meditation, high energy. Then finishing by Kurama dera: more tourists but nice view. This mountain is importante for Reiki therapeutes as Master Usui received his initiation there. Enjoy!
Lovely temple, with great views. It takes you a hole day, but is totally worth it.
There is no such word i can describe.
Go there and feel it!!! 🌲🌲
Stunning Mt.Kurama! Great and breath taking view definitely worth you to pay your visit there!
Part of an amazing walk at Mt Kurama. Autumn colours are awesome on the way up to this temple. The temple features a large forecourt with the centre of power. Makao Usui walked this path on his journey to enlightenment.
A nice out of the way temple. Way less busy than some of the temples in Kyoto. Great when combined with the walk.
