  A nice hotel overall. I stayed there on budget and I think it was the best value I could get. Rooms are fairly spacious and clean. The hotel is old but doesn't don't show it. My room did not have views to the imperial garden but the light entered most of the day.

  Kitchen closed for dinner at 7:30!?!?!!!? Watch NHK news and you're screwed. I guess they want you to walk to McDonald's. Not to mention the noisy, obnoxious high school students. Have stayed here many times before but never again.

  Very convenient to go to Kyoto Palace! Clean, very quiet (as compared with normal Japanese hotels). Will definitely come again when visiting Kyoto Palaces.

  The Kyoto Garden Palace Hotel offers a prime location betwixt top service and comfortable yet royal shelter offerings. The standard room is big enough for both western and Japanese standards. Breakfast (washoku, jpnse style) was the best I have had when compared with the usual Shikoku business trips. Thoroughly recommend stopping by the breakfast restaurant, even for the expense (around 1500 but it's worth it).
  Signs are bilingual and staff will try their best to communicate with you in any way.

  Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Good rooms, silent, near the imperial palace but a little far from the subway. If you're fine with walking it's ok. Wifi is great without login fuzz and one AP per room.
