I truly love this place. Yes it's old, a little drab, but the rooms on the canal side have the most incredible views. The weathered sento bath on the top floor has so much character and the individuals who've manned the front desk when I've stayed there are always so friendly and helpful (despite speaking little English) that I always check availability here first before going to any other ryokan.

The host is really nice, we just stay one night for the airport in early of the day after. Everytime we meet him, he did not forget his smile. When we leave, he walk to main street just to give us a farewell (our bus can not reach the hotel). The hotel itself is good enough for me with nice view.

Room and hotel are great. Rooms are quite large by Japanese standards. Traditional japanese breakfast is amazing, but book early in the day to avoid disappointment. Very centrally located, though in the "red light" district, so may not be as suitable a place for young families. Just across the river from dotonbori and all the delicious street food you could want. Lost a star due to housekeeping being a bit sloppy. A bag of garbage (not all ours) was left in our room one day and the towels were taken but not replaced. Not blaming the hotel directly, as I believe it to be an outside housekeeping service, but nevertheless, it happened.

The room was amazing, probably the biggest room we have had so far in Japan. I would definitely recommend booking for breakfast, it's a set menu, traditional Japanese breakfast and it's massive. Definitely worth the money.

If you are interested to experience the japanese traditional inn, this will be one of it..we have a pleasant stay here, v love their room, comfy bed, breakfast and their lovely staffs!!

Impeccable customer service. Amazing water pressure. Magical canisters that keep ice water cold for upwards of 18 hours. Within easy walking distance of Den Den Town and Dotonbori and that canal/river and some shopping stuff and what appears to be a Ramen Dragon.

Great, traditional Japanese rooms were comfortable and had a wonderful view. Staff were pleasant and very accommodating!

People and the service there was very nice. The location is right beside dontonburi which is also very convenient. It's located by the host club area but no one bothered us probably because we looked like a traveler. My only big complaint is there bathrooms in the room smells really really bad. And the public bath/shower place also smell unpleasant. Might be because the pipes are old.. that was the only big thing that bugged me.

Very friendly staff. Nice public bath. Very convenient location. The washroom in our room had a bit of an old musty smell though.
