One of the largest Animates I went to, spanning multiple floors. Goods are of good quality, but generally pricey. If your anime/manga isn't one of the more popular ones, it's quite difficult to find merchandise for it. There's also very many anime-related gacha machines outside. Beware of buying CDs or DVDs here if you're a foreigner, as they may be region-locked to Japan. Manga was also all in Japanese, of course.
My heaven! 😍 It's like heaven for all Japanese Anime fans haha. 9-storey building in Ikebukuro and is stocked up with a very good spread of anime goods. Always a must visit place for me hahahaa
Has a good collection of current and popular anime related goods. Each floor is sectioned off for particular types of goods. They even have a small stage in the top level for live performances and special events. Just be warned that the prices are high, and include tax unless you spend a certain amount. Other than that, the location is a little out of the way, but the staff are friendly (know their stuff too) and the place is clean.
fujoshi go here, otaku don;t except you are fudanshi.. lel
Geared towards female anime fans, it is the largest Animate store in the world, and the cornerstone of Otome Road - unparalleled in it's sheer size of doujin and character good selection.
Fantastic alternative to the typical male focused anime stores in akihabara. This branch has 9 levels of anime and manga related goods targeted primarily at girls.
9 floors of otaku heaven. You can find everything from stationery to yaoi dojin. The store is especially popular with young Japanese women. It can get pretty crowded even on weekdays. Staff are polite and helpful.
Very hot. But worth the trouble. Awesome gift opportunities for otakus.
4 and 5th floor has all the goods for 外人 like myself.
7-8 floors of everything anime and Manga. Highly recommended if you are looking for a new series or a cute accessory to pick up. Prices can be a bit more expensive that you may find at a BookOff but they have a larger assortment here.
Cool shop and I have made my first goodie purchase here in Tokyo, Haikyu related
The sales lady was funny when she spoke Japanese to me, but I couldn't follow it: "sorry" with a low voice

HOLY S*** I WOULD GIVE MY FINGER TO LIVE NEXT TO THAT PLACE
Fujoshi heaven. Well you don't have to like Boy x Boy stuff Tons of anime merch.
Ok so a friend took me into this store, one thing I did not expect is that Ikebukuro is more of a girls hang out and entering animate kind of re-emphasises this love yaoi and other popular animes that girls watch, this may just be where to go, or to take your girl friend.
The Animate Flagship location consists 8 floors . For people like Japanese manga , character goods anime CDs DVD, gamesetc
Good place to hunt for anime and related items. Prices are somewhat higher than other places BUT they have a huge selection. Consider the time and effort you will spend finding items cheaper somewhere else. Visit if you are in the area.
