If you want a relatively inexpensive place that is clean, close to the airport and to the beaches, Toby's Resort fits the bill.

I've been coming to this affordable family owned mini resort for the last 15 years, but I am really impressed with the way it has improved over the last two . I just returned yesterday to the mainland U.S. and must say that my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our 9 days at Tody's. I value getting an" authentic" feeling of the places I travel with my family and Toby's was a great Jamaican experience. I had no problem with WI-FI either, I was able to even stream Netflix with no problem. One massive plus is that they are one of the few places that actually has a salt water pool, super nice, you can open your eyes in the water. Location was fine for me, right outside of the hip-strip, but less congested, much better for family as I have two young children. The owner is putting a lot of work into this quaint resort and I greatly appreciate it. They went above and beyond several times for us and for that I am grateful. See you soon Toby's..

Absolutely wonderful place, great people wonderful food, such a beautiful experience for my mom & I on our mother daughter vacation. Not one single complaint. The bartender Michael is beyond amazing, such a great guy who makes sure you're safe & comfortable. Already planning my next stay here.

Simple low budget accommodation near the airport. Was safe/clean, staff friendly and service in the restaurant was good. We stayed 1 night as catching a ship from Montego Bay the next day. Perfectly fine for a brief stay.

Stayed here for 4 nights, I was sick so I didn't enjoy the stay as much as I normally would have. The room I was in was upstairs, always cool enough with the ac and very clean. Our flight was delayed 1 day and they worked with us to change our dates of stay. Very close to the tourist shops and Doctors Cave Beach.
Not much in the way of entertainment, but we were there to relax and that was just what we got.
Pool was clean and partially shaded by beautiful palm trees.
Not an all inclusive resort, but there's a very nice restaurant on the premises.
When we were there the WiFi was spotty and we had to sit just outside the office to get it.response / report this review -

This place was more than i expected in person. The pics online did not give it justice at all. It was beautiful, it was comfortable, and it was clean. A short walk to the beach, and downtown plaza if you love to walk. I recommend this place and it will be my choice of stay

Pricey for what you get. Even in low season. I would imagine at high season this is overpriced what you get. Poor water pressure. AC unit is not powerful. Staff is great. Just amenities are run down.

Nothing to complain. $96 at the desk for one night. Pools are okay. Only one Ice machine located by the pool but it's not very lit at night. Read my review of Toby's Eats for information on restaurant.
$15 taxi ride from airport to hotel. And$15 back to airport. If you need a receipt for taxi back to MBJ make sure to ask the hotel before you ride in the taxi.

While the rooms were nice, it was an overall terrible experience due to the service. The front desk lady was dry and rude. The lady at the front of the restaurant was rude as well. The servers were kind and you could tell they were doing their best, but it appears as though they were improperly trained. They were unsure of their menu, scattered, forgot parts of our order and weren't confident in doing their job. I assume the problems with the staff here are a simple reflection of poor management at the hotel and also it's restaurant. If these things are addressed, the experiences of patrons at the hotel could be positively transformed.

Only leaving a 1 star because with "resort" in the name can throw off a family looking for a place. This is not a family hotel and they definitely are not trying to cater to family. When we arrived, we were taken to our room but the person taking us did not even offer to help carry our bags. Mind you we had a 5 year old that was a sleep and trying to manage him and the bags was obviously difficult. We also saw alot of adult behavior that was being condoned. I will leave it there as this review is for the family resort searcher. If you are a single person looking for fun near the airport with looser rules, this is the place for you.

Very clean place, friendly and helpful staff, and best of all this place is within 20 minutes walk of everything including the airport. The beach is 3 mins walk away and the hip strip starts almost at the front of the hotel

Good place. Has a mosquito issue tho. No net over the bed. Pool looks a bit dodgy. Never see anyone clean it and I stayed here form a while.
The luxury rooms are definitely better.
Walls are thin but not the worst I've seen in Jamaica. No laundry service in the hotel or anywhere near it. Restaurant is pretty bad.
Streetwalkers outside the hotel every night.
I would say avoid it but price is ok and close to the airport and frequent route taxis outside make it ok for a couple of nights.response / report this review
