Boardwalk Village was a surprisingly nice and quiet escape in the middle of Negril. No fluffs or frills but the room was a good size, clean and had most of what you would readily need while only footsteps away from the beach. The food was good and reasonably priced. Overall I had a good stay.

Nice place for coffee and breakfast, for which the prices are reasonable. Dinner looked good too but a bit high for our budget. Grilled lobster made in front of you on the beach. Friendly, fast service and amazing view. Gets busy during the day as the gorgeous beach chairs are a nice place to relax. The vibe picks up in the afternoon with louder, good music. Clean bathrooms as I’m sure the rooms are too.

Bit expensive but good food and great place to relax on the beach .. remember $5 for padding for your sun lounger and $5 for a parasol if u want one :) We went as part of the Tui trip to Ricks Cafe so spent 3 hours relaxing, eating and drinking here .. definately hotter and sunnier than what we have experienced back in ocho rios!

I arrive 11/29/17 to 12/5/17. I was booked through Reggae Runnerz for the Reggae Marathon. I was greeted by Nicola in management and therefore I believed this was a great start to my stay. I was wrong. Claudette Allen was the next person I encountered at the desk. We were one of the first to arrive at the resort. We were provided a cocktail and given an extremely short not so clear explanation of where things were however no information about WiFi or breakfast etc. We asked to be moved to another room closer to the beach as we clearly were the first of the guests to arrive. Ms. Allen stated she couldn't accommodate us and said Nicola would need to do so. We were given the room Heather which was closest to the street and extremely nosey. Needless to say we spent an extremely large amount of taxi fare to go to Cocola Palm. Other runners participating in the marathon were staying there and the staff there were so nice and helpful that I will never forget them and they remembered us and our names as we spent a great deal of time and money there. One evening after finishing up our daily activities we returned to the resort and the cab driver was preparing to leave us when he immediately noticed security was not there to greet and let us in to the resort. The cab driver made two phone calls to management and eventually he stuck his hand through the gate and walked us to our room and conveyed his concern for our safety. We locked ourselves in and we did not see security before we went to bed. We addressed our concerns to Ms. Allen and Ms. Nicola. She explained she heard about the security not being available the night before and the were having a meeting at 6 PM that evening. However the security guard that probably needed to be in that meeting was off that evening. Nicola should me several sets of keys of the people she needed to check in the reason why she couldn't move us. The lighting in the room was horrible and we didn't have a refrigerator or microwave and she later told me the owner said she should have moved us. We didn't have our room cleaned the very first day of staying there. The young lady apologized later as she was ill. We understand mistakes happen but things kept getting worse. We meet Larry and Romero (maybe missed spell) and the immediately try to help us feel comfortable and admitted they didn't even know we were staying there and had not seen us and they had not seen us because we were so unhappy. Larry was very helpful after he was made aware of how unhappy we were and helped us weigh our luggage for the plane. Kadia was sick and she was in house keeping and she tried to make it right. She called in ILENE who was also in housekeeping and they were concerned about us being uncomfortable and brought in a refrigerator & a microwave. Angela Brown who is also in management tried to do damage control by offering us lunch and dinner along with cocktails for our inconvenience. So that occured at the end of our stay. And after dinner we headed to COCOLA PALM BEACH RESORT to hang out and low and behold upon our return the room FLOODED! I FELT WE HAD TO BE ON A HIDDEN CAMERA SHOW. We of course got moved then because when I tell you water was every where and even running out of the room to outside on the side walk. I had purchased an extra bag to pack my items that I purchased while there and it got wet. So of course we were moved to the room orchid after that disaster. I have never experienced such lack of concern from upper management and lack of customer service skills expressed to a paying customer. It was disheartening as I was in another country far far from home. I am sure I am leaving things out. One other thing that aggravated me our neighbors were loud as they yelled good by outside our door and announced they were from North Carolina..& I was aware hey that happens but when the woman sat down outside our door at a table and proceeded to POP BUBBLE WRAP before we had even gotten out of bed that morning and then when I opened the door so she could see the disapproval on my face

Nice quaint place to shop for local handmade gifts. They catch lobsters fresh right on the beach cooked fresh. Beach has a trampoline in the water for added fun plenty of lounge chairs with umbrellas available to purchase for $5. Bar is nice with good music. Changing areas and outside showers for beach users.

A Cool place to visit and chill for the day, whilst there you can check out the carver , Renford, at shop number 6, who does some awesome pieces, you can relax and have a Red stripe or two at the bar or maybe have a bite to eat and watch the beautiful sun setBliss

Must try and only good thing about the Boardwalk Village.. Firmans Losbter Pit, located on the beach front. Lobster with garlic butter is unreal and great bang for the buck.

We have had clients and crew stay here at various times, and generally it is a nice beach, with a quaint little "village" of 2-3 shops and a mini turtle pond. There are a few native plants and trees in the "village" with explanations of their history on the island.
One of those was a flowering cannabis (aka Marijuana) plant. lovely!!! Ok, it was a male specimen, but hey at least they tried! ;)
The rooms are clean and well appointed, but are a bit "tight", with tiny little terrace areas in front.
The bar and restaurant are above average and the staff are very friendly.
Aside from being a little disconnected from the all the action to the south of the Negril, the only real negative on this place was that it seems to be a tour group destination!!! So all day long, big groups of tour coaches arrive from the cruise lines and operators out of Mobay and further.
Literally 500 people show up all at once, are led past most of the hotel rooms to the bar and out to the beach!!! Then at a certain hour in the afternoon, they are all gone as quickly as they came, except that they have a tendency to congregate on aforementioned little terraces in front of your room!
SO yeah, the place would be a whole lot better if that weren't the case. Solid 3 stars.response / report this review -

Cool beach to hang out, it's free to get in, but get ready to be hustled by the locals! Food is a bit expensive. Chairs are free, but it cost $5 for cushions and $5 for umbrella. Otherwise it's a cool beach to go hang out. Its about 1.5-2 hours from Montego Bay

Great area to get fresh seafood. Find Fireman if you get the chance to make it hear. Beach here is actually clearer than the Sandals resort I stayed.

What a Great place to stay the rooms are very clean and up to date. The staff is very friendly. From the lifeguard to our waitress. They were very accommodating to my son and I. Also stop by the fire pit for fresh crab or lobster it was so good.
Also our Taxi driver Garth was the best

The owners of this resort have captured the essence of the jamaican culture in this place the location is perfect the beach is beautiful and clean. The staff is courteous and friendly. The owner walks around and greets all the guess to make sure you're happy. They treat their staff good and you can tell. It's lime one big happy family. I can't wait to come back :-)

it's a shame because it's a very beautiful place, very relaxing, the staff around the hotel is very kind, minus the office staff. when making our reservations online we could only book for a max of 2 adults and 2 children so we called in to make sure we could get in an extra adult and they said it was fine. so when we got here the lady in the office (Michelle) says she has to charge us an extra $60us for the extra adult so we said okay and asked to get an extra pull out/roll away bed. they said they couldn't do that. so we questioned that because basically what are we paying extra for if THEY are NOT doing anything extra other than providing 1 more towel, which BTW they had only put 2 in the room. she continued to just say that they had to charge the extra $60 for extra accommodations, but again I ask: what or who are they accommodating and how?
later on my boyfriend (Jamaican) went back to the office to ask for the WiFi login and this lady (Michelle) & I call her "lady" to keep this post PG has the audacity to tell him that she was going to waive the extra charge but apparently my mother was too rude when she asked this "lady" what we were paying the extra money for accommodations when they weren't providing any extra accommodations so she had decided not to.
so yea very nice place, it's beautiful. but make sure to call ahead of time and clarify on every bit and ask for the name of who ever you are speaking to incase you have any issues once you get here. and keep in mind that they can choose to charge you or not unless you kiss they're ass to the max and not question anything because apparently that's rude.response / report this review -
