The beach is smaller than most but very beautiful. The staff is friendly and food is affordable. You can lounge on the beach and have servers take your drinks and food orders. The villas are nice but are in need of renovation. Don't stay in villa #18 if you plan to get work done that required WiFi, but if you're able to work on the beach itself the WiFi us perfect there.

I've never stayed at the hotel but I've however been to the cove/beach sooo beautiful and fun, a river flows into the ocean which makes it the perfect salty even though its a little cool in temperature. Theres a swing that swings over the river for the kids and adults with adventure in mind there are waiters that bring your drinks and food on the beach so no need to sit or wait in lineI'm a water baby love to swim so I'd recommend anyone its a must visit. Oh and your pictures will be beautiful 👌

Breathtakingly beautiful, clean, and good food options. Even wifi on the beach (not that you'll want to be on your phone). Beware of currency exchange - we definitely got taken advantage of that way. Other than that, great experience.

Exeptionally beautiful place. So much fun to jump with the waves. The rougher the more fun. Just stay near the shores! Then there is the river. It is cold but once you are in you will love it!

I LOVE THIS BEACH. Everytime I head to Jamaica I try to go to this beach. The beach is beautiful, quiet and relaxing. No people trying to sell you things , no background noise except for the water beating against the cliffs. I have never stayed at the hotel. Time always stand still or crawls slowly when I am here. One recommendation I have for Frenchman’s cove is to rent lockers (I saw some near the bathrooms by the beach, can those be fixed and used.

An amazing but small cove staffed but great people who maintain it perfectly.
When I went the water was pretty rough, but it's shallowenough to stand up to the rope and the life gaurd's on duty.
There's a stream that runs through the area which is pretty cold pretty deep and incredibly refreshing.
Unfortunately food and drinks are not allowed but they sell food there, which is good quality.

Get away from your typical beach experience and hideaway at this cove tucked away in beautiful Portland.

This beach tends not to be over crowded, no loud annoying music, kept clean and has a river for swimming. So you can choose between the fresh and salty water. Food is also available it's restaurant. The main downside, the beach it very small.

My pictures were taken on a very rainy day with rough seas.

Food, fun, relaxation, comfort its all here Whatever you can think of its here in excess. Views, oh please, countless, slow relaxing river, beautiful beach, this is definitely the place to be. I am in love with this place, and you will be in love too, all it takes is just one visit and you are hooked. Three's not enough stars here to rate this place. Staff No issues here they know exactly what to do to please.

Some people go to beaches in town well i go to french mans cove, this is my very special beach i always feel at home here , the scenery is like no other, no beach can be compared , i believe its the most beautiful beach in jamaica and it underrated, its q beautiful attraction never noisy always relaxing, the staff is friendly & helpful. I will always recommend this place to anyone. Children love it here as well its beatiful , captivating it also has a river. The water is just breathtaking.

Nice beach,love the scenery and the fact that there is a river that runs in the ocean water and you get to enjoy both awesome,kick back with a 2 cold red stripe 🍺 and chill with some friends nice spot to unwind.

Beautiful beach. It cost $1000 jamaican for non resident and $800 jamaican for residents. I love how you can have food and drinks brought to you. Never have to leave your beach chair

Great beach, relaxing atmosphere. Restaurant has delicious meals cooked to order. Bar with refreshing beverages. Entrance fee, beach chairs for rental, life guards. Also hotel with cottages.

The grounds at Frenchman's Cove are well maintained and naturally beautiful. The cove itself is an amazing experience as there is cold water floating above warm water. You can also swim in the source of the cold water which appears to be a river basin. The seafood served at the beach was good as well. Well seasoned, though slightly overcooked, large lobsters and whole fish prepared steamed, roasted or fried. They will set up tables for you to eat on the beach. This definitely adds to the pleasure of the meal. The rooms are rustic and could use some updates, however, most of the rooms open up to a pretty nice ocean view. I suggest reserving a room with a full unobstructed ocean view if available as many of the rooms have privacy shrubbery. The rooms are situated on a cliff where the sounds of the ocean crashing and the view compensate for the shortcomings of the kitchen and bath. Lastly, the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. I would give the staff 5 stars. Overall, it was a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

Jamaica's Gem. Located in the Parish of Portland, it's Jamaica's best kept secret, lush vegetation, very scenic and idyllic. Rivals many of the top destinations in the world. Beach is well maintained and a beautiful pristine river that flows into the sea is very cold and very invigorating.

Massive and gorgeous property! The rooms are lovely, quiet and clean, the staff are courteous. Has both a beach and a river, beach chair access and a restaurant on the beach. Great place to visit with friends and family.

The river that leads into the sea was prestine and clear. They have swings along the river and the water is clam and relaxing. The beach was also awesome and clean. There were life guards on duty to reassure safety as well as status flags to indicate danger based on how strong waves are (red status is awesome for some surfing)

Frenchman's Cove is a beautiful clean beach that also
happens to be a riverside as well. The waters are cool, clear and
blue. Its a nature lovers paradise. I recommend it to anyone. It makes other beaches look ordinary.

Amazing place to chill and relax, quiet and in a secluded area. I guess the price keep out every and any body, even with available wifi. However, I was at least hoping for a complementary drink.. Over all, if you just want a new experience, then go for it, other wise, there are other beaches down the road.

A beautiful cove. Pity that it's a private beach so all visitors must pay to get to it unless they stay at the Frenchman cove villas that a extremely dated. The cove has a calm river flowing into the sea where the cold river water mixes with the warm sea water. Swimming in the water is really cool as every now and then one feels cold and warm water while swimming.
