This really was the worst restaurant I can remember being to in a long time. If you're wealthy, then maybe the prices don't strike you but it is absolutely ridiculous to charge what they charge for food here. Don't come here unless you would like to spend 60+ Euros a person. Moreover the food was standard at best. Seems to be more of a tourist trap than anything. Don't let the fish display in the window fool you. It got the best of the person that dragged me there. il peggiore mai!

Erano anni che non mangiavamo del pesce cosi fresco in un ristorante di Roma.
Locale elegante attiguo a piazza del Popolo; tavoli apparecchiati con cura.
Calorosa accoglienza da parte della signora Stefania che ci ha consigliato cosa prendere.
Strepitosi i crudi (mazzangolle,scampi,tartare di tonno e di spigola,ostriche).
Non di meno i caldi (spigola in guazzetto delicatissimo,alici fritte,fagioli e cozze).
A seguire Tonno rosso al forno e grigliata mista da leccarsi i baffi.
Buona la cantina.

I went to this restaurant and ate fried sardines as appetizer. They were very good together with the white wine. Then I tasted pasta with seafood is also very good. I will come back with pleasure.

My husband and i celebrated our 15th Anniversary with friends at Mare. Our waiter, Septimio was charming and attentive. The seafood was exquisite and there was a variety of preparations with the seafood remaining the star of the plate.The raw swet shrimp were decadent and delicious. We highly recommend Mare for tasting the best of the bounty of the mediterranian in Rome.
