Most beautiful and well suited for anything else. Milano centrale railway station is the best place to visit and travel with your friends and family
A beautiful station ruined by ads. This is what happens when money becomes more important than user experience. The giant ads and screens are visible and readable from distance but you need a telescope to read the important information like platform numbers, directions and timetable
The central station is a monument itself to be visited, if it's not part of your journey. The arches and domes of the 2 halls are impressive and wonderfull at the same time, and the majesty of it impresses.
Just be careful, they do not always open all the doors so you might need to walk a bit to get your train.
Stunning architecture
Beautiful Architecture
So many pros and cons.
It is a lovely building - super high ceilings and nice architectural details.
BUT - hard to navigate. UP and down and around stairs and into a room and past shops and through gateways.
Tricky, I tell you. Could cause a nervous issue if you are late for travel plans.
Saw no "beggers."
Note: Buses outside take you to the airport for 5E cheaper than the train.
The beautiful architecture of the station building. There is a lot of passengers here but the organization is well solved. Train tickets can also be bought in the vending machine. So you save the time you would spend waiting in line.
Impressive architecture, and very big station.
It can take some time go to from one place to the other at times when you have a luggage and don't want to climb long stairs.
Anyone can go into the station but only people with a train ticket can get to the platform.
Many shops on the first, second and underground floors.
There's a good connection with the underground, bus and trams.
The building is amazing, but signs are not clear: it's very easy to get lost if it's your first time here. Avoid the bar "Centrale", as politeness doesn't reside here: bartenders were fighting without even caring we were there in line and waiting for them
Milan’s main train station. The building has an impressive architecture. Wayfinding signs are intuitive and easy to understand. You will find your way to trains and metro in an eye blink. Watch out for pickpockets.
Needed to ask for directions to the gate. Otherwise all good. Make sure you carry €1 coins for the toilets.
The grandiose Milano Centrale station that exists today replaced two previous stations. King Victor Emmanuel III laid the cornerstone of the current station in 1906 before the final blueprints were chosen. Its design was modeled on Union Station in Washington, D.C.
It's the most beautiful station I've never seen before!! I loved all parts of the station with the roman-architecture. And there are lots of shops and restaurants inside the station. pretty cool!
I hate this train station! Apart from the nice architecture this place is dangerous and completely disorganised.
Unfortunately I have to come Milan train station quite often and I dread it!
Train platforms aren't announced on the screens or speakers until the train actually leaves and I have missed flights due to this and missing out on meetings and holidays. So wasted a lot of money!
Every time I have tried calling and emailing to complain, I haven't had one person returning my messages, it's a disgrace!
Also there are pickpockets and seedy looking people (mainly black) all around the airport who I've seen many times steal things! The security and police presence is lacking! Also the police and security who are there are very unhelpful and rude who just seem to trot around like they are on a Milano cat walk. I'm pretty confident this will be one of the next spots for an attack.
Also the toilet and disability facilities are dreadful!!!
You feel like an ant when walking through the arches of the train station. The scale used is marvellous. Each arch is higher than the other and the building seems to have been built by giants.
The platforms where trains arrive/depart is very well kept. Great opportunity for pictures both inside and outside the station.
I had no problems at all but just be a bit careful outside the station. Lots and lots of homeless people camp and live outside the station. There is always either police or army patrol cars to give you a sense of security.
