Simply stated, the entire experience while on property is world-class. Lead by Genero and his fabulous staff, everyone I interacted with was completely professional and courteous.
A little-known secret is the fantastic oyster and cocktail bar located one floor below the lobby it is a first class way to enjoy the Positano sunset, especially if Franco's is too crazy.
For the full experience, make sure to check out their restaurant called La Sponda it has a Michelin star and is consistently voted one of the most romantic restaurants on Earth.

Wow! This is truly top of the food chain anywhere in the world. I had dinner at La Sponda and it was amazing. Very romantic, with amazing food and great service. So happy we were able to get a reservation here, it was fabulous on every level.

Spectacular views and great service
We really enjoyed the view here. Unfortunately we only got to have lunch as dinner reservations were fully booked up for La Sponda. Lunch was still a great experience. We had fish entrees which were quite good and perfectly cooked but it was their cocktail drinks that really stole the show. Definitely more on the pricey side but well worth the experience. We would 100% come back for the dinner.response / report this review -

Drinks at oyster and champagne bar are amazing. Excellent G&T (not that these are hard to get wrong). Expensive so drinks come with olives (delicious), almonds (delicious) and chips (rather salty). Staff are very friendly, attentive and nice. I would recommend for drinks before dinner. Boasts quite a high-end clientele so great for people watching!

The only Michelin started restaurant on the coast. The service was excellent (as expected), the views second to none and they even had two musicians playing to each table. However not everything was good, the food even though was of high calibre there was some disappointments. We ordered the beef shins which we found them dry, and the John dory quite small in portion size. Small little things however when you pay 40-50 euros each dish you expect better. There were stand out dishes though and they were the shrimp ravioli with saffron sauce, tortellini with truffle and the veal. Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Ambience 5/5

Truly unique experience staying in Positano. Easy reachable in the center of a town, it has its own unique atmosphere. Every detail at this hotel seems to be not overlooked. Staff is exceptional.

This was a fantastic experience. Our party of eight arrived a little early and we were seated right away. Pasquale was a fantastic host and accommodated us above and beyond. Everything was delicious and if we're ever in the neighborhood again, hopefully soon, we'll be coming back.

This is a review for the hotel restaurant: Ristorante La Sponda:
Overall, the food here was good, but far from great. We've had far better during our Italy trip at non-Michelin starred restaurants. However, what really stood out about our experience was how bad the service was.
The service was pretty terrible, and certainly not deserving of the restaurant's Michelin star. The waiters were way too harried. With the exception of one gentleman, none of the staff looked even remotely in our general direction as they spoke too us - as if they couldn't be bothered.
We waited for nearly an hour for our first course to arrive. During that time, we had to ask numerous times for water, bread, the drink menu, and even the amuse bouche that we saw being served to other tables around us.
We ordered the chef's tasting menu:
1) The amuse bouche was a fried cod croquette on a tomato velloutte. This was delicious. Fresh and good flavors. Only complaint is the velloutte was served too chilled, and clashed with the heat of the croquette
2) Braised octopus. This dish was not good. The octopus had a salty, not-so-fresh taste, and the tomato and potato sauce was way over salted
3) Linguine with mussels, clams, and razor clams. This dish was just average. A couple of my shellfish weren't entirely cleaned, and my teeth crunched down hard on some sand. Overall, I've had better, many times.
4) John Dory. Solid fish main course. Well cooked and nicely sauced. However, this dish was also rather forgettable. Not what you'd expect from a Michelin restaurant
5) Orange panna cotta with orange sorbet. Delicious and refreshing.
6) Merangue with citrus and grapefruit sorbet. A bit too sweet. My wife and I preferred #5response / report this review
