Excellent meal with superb service. After a few days on the coast it was soothing to eat a 2+ hour mid day meal with great views.
Missing everyone Thank you for everything Wonderful stay beautiful memories 🇮🇹🇮🇹❤️❤️
Paper-thin walls between rooms. Beds and uncomfortable. There is nothing to do in or around the hotel besides sit at the restaurant and go for the wine tour. Overpriced wine tasting even though the wine is worth trying (3rd top rated white in Italy)
For the worst part: If you decide not to rent a car in Amalfi coast (considering the disastrous driving conditions and non-existent parking options), there is literally no access to and from the hotel outside of public transportation, which are always rediculously late or don't show up at all. They do offer a shuttle pickup for an outrageous fee. So if you happen to miss the bus in Amalfi and need to get back to the hotel, you're screwed. If your bus is 1hr+ late or doesn't show up at all, you're screwed. If you wake up a tad late and want to go to town after 10? you're stuck at the hotel all day. If the bus passes by and it's full? Nope, not getting into town today. Basically, the access to the hotel is an absolute stressful nightmare and will wreck any enjoyment you may have.
One plus is the scenery from the rooms is absolutely breath-taking.
The Hosteria di Bacco is a nice family hotel with well appointed rooms, courteous, friendly and helpful service at the reception and great sea views on the gulf of Salerno. The food is very good in general at the well known restaurant, BUT the level of the restaurant service I experienced during the two days of my stay was impersonal, rushed and very disappointing overall despite my efforts to communicate in Italian. I have been working over 25 years in the international hospitality industry myself and clearly felt treated second class as a hotel guest having half board (3-course meal for €30) compared to the mainly Italian à la carte guests paying much more and likely to return much sooner. Unfortunately, the meat of my main course "Tagliata di vitellone" (veal) was very tough tonight and impossible to chew. This can happen (although rare with veal), but when I mentioned it nicely to the waiter, he took the almost full plate away saying "Oh, it was tough" and nothing else. After that, I was completely ignored for at least 30 minutes whereas all other tables around me were tended to. I was wondering whether the maître d' would come to apologize and offer a replacement as I had hardly touched my main course, but no follow up was done at all. Sadly, this could have been corrected easily if the wait staff would have dealt with it in a personable and professional manner. Hotel guests at Hosteria di Bacco using the restaurant deserve to be treated in the same fashion as local à la carte guests
Loveliest hotel in Amalfi Coast. The staff help with everything and I couldn't be happier. The views are amazing and the food they serve is wonderful. I really recommend this hotel. There is a bus stop outside that takes you to amalfi, otherwise they have ample parking.
Great place: Beautiful wiev, nice rooms and very friendly and welcoming staff. And don't miss the excellent restaurant, which focuses on local dishes and ingredients (think slow food)!
Good service. Good food.
Delicious! Such an amazing location, delicious food and just a perfect service. You can't ask for more! Go there and enjoy.
Stayed here in 2013 and absolutely loved this place. The owner was friendly the food was good. I especially love the fresh jams for breakfast. The views from our room were amazing. It was quiet and peaceful. Are the rooms updated no but we did not mind. I am planning a trip back to Bacco this year. Just don't drop the key on your foot!!
