The hotel is a historic and interesting old building with art noveau styling throughout. Our room was large, had hardwood floors, and well furnished. Though opulent the hotel is showing wear around the edges and could use some rehabbing. Service was attentive, if understaffed, likely due to the fact we visited in the off season. Hotel is not walking distance to the tourist attractions in Palermo.

Had a wonderful 5 night stay at Villa Igiea which was a relaxing end to our Italian honeymoon. We checked in right at the end of their busy season so they were no longer offering some of the activities and city shuttle I had read about. However Salvo and Alessia really went above and beyond to help us plan a few things we wanted to do. The bar is beautiful and Roberto was great!
They have great amenities in the room which we were extra grateful for seeing how we made notes to get toothpaste and shaving cream but showed up to the hotel to find out they proved excellent brands of these things already! The rooms are beautiful. Huge ceilings and I loved the shower head and how parts of the bathroom mirror never fogged up! Really my only complaint was the bed. For how amazing the hotel is I was mystified how it seems to be appropriate to have hard rollaway beds placed together to equal a king sized bed. Other than that I was in heaven.response / report this review -

The room was nice, but some aspects of the hotel need some updates. A lot of little things that need fixing around. Missing tiles in the pool, old furniture on the tennis court. Small things like that. The price for food is way too expensive. The free shuttle to the city center is nice, but limited seating and no late return option means either an expensive taxi ride or a very long walk from any place worth having dinner at. The view of the pool is amazing, but some of the staff seem uptight. My wife made a comment that they seem "sexist" because everything they gave us was designed for women.

Beautiful building with extensive grounds. Overall a good stay but paying anything more than ~$200/night would be too much. In general the building is somewhat tired and dated and in order to retain its 5 star rating a refresh with attention to detail is needed. Bathroom fittings had parts missing, caulking was missing. Some areas of the gardens were covered in trash, patio furniture was damaged and function furnishings were not stowed.

Beautiful seafront location. Room was very spacious as well as the bathroom. All amenities one could need were provided. Breakfast buffet was wonderful, seafront view. Many options to choose from for breakfast, freshly squeezed juice was also provided. Staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a beautiful hotel.

Beautiful hotel that retain its old charm. Might need a few updated here and there but doesn't really matter when you have lovely view of the marina and sunrise for breakfast

Good wedding Lunch. A mix of local traditional and haute - cousin entries. Poor initial buffet but high quality preparation and presentation. Astonishing setting and environment. One of the most beautiful place in Palermo.

The view is great, the room was spacious but the bathroom was fair. You would not want to take a bath and the amenities were sparse for a 5-star hotel. The staff was lukewarm on the friendly scale-particularly in the dining room.
If you like to exercise, this isn't the hotel for you. The gym is hard to find with three old machines..response / report this review
