Presente solo per convegno. Struttura datata, avrebbe bisogno di qualche restauro, tutto sommato però L'esperienza è stata positiva. Buono il buffet e soprattutto bellissimo il palazzo.

Rarely I've been more disappointed at a hotel stay. We were so happy we had found a great deal for a luxurious hotel in Palermo that despite the still high price (170$ a night) compared to other places we were considering, we booked our 2 nights here. I wish we hadn't. Upon our arrival late at night we were sent to the tiniest room available (that's apparently what comes when you find offers here - we checked the floor maps) and, hear hear, the bathroom had not been properly cleaned - at all. We asked for a new room and had to insist to get one (really!!!). Of course we were given the second tiniest room available. The bathroom was ok, after pointing to the person that showed us the room the not so clean spots, we stayed. This by itself is a more than enough reason not to come back.
Overall the hotel is located in a convenient spot to easily tour the city center (which is the reason for the 2 stars). Yet it strongly embodies Palermo's decadence: it used to be an astounding Grand Hotel in liberty style. Long time ago. Now torn and badly spotted carpets line every floor, the wallpaper is starting to come off the walls here and there, the walls bear the signs of every guest been there, Even the breakfast room must have been amazing once. Now all of its decorations have darkened, and the regular continental breakfast served in chipped plates & cups does not build excitement.
This hotel has a great potential to be great again, it just needs some love. In the meantime it's not worth the money. Which is sad.response / report this review -

Gorgeous hotel, and pleasant staff. I was disappointed however to find that women are charged more than men for the laundry service. Quite why it should be more expensive to place a female item of clothing into a washing machine than a male one escapes me, and this is why I have deducted one star.

Cleaning staff WILL STEAL YOUR VALUABLES. I would NEVER stay here again. My wife and I were on our honeymoon through Sicily and this hotel ruined our trip when we came back to our room one evening to find my wife's bag had been gone through and around $16k worth of jewelry was stolen. We should have put it in the safe, but when you stay at a 4 star hotel, you assume its safe. ITS NOT! There was only one staff member who was helpful, the management took zero responsibility. I've waited a few months to tell the story in hopes they would somehow rectify the problem, but no. No response after repeated attempts for months.

I love this hotel. Room could perhaps do with updating but it is full of charm and great staff. Breakfast is varied and delicious. It is very central and close to bus stops and many restaurants.

Amazing hotel. Very luxurious old style place that one feels lucky to have the chance to visit. Maybe not perfect in all aspects, but an excellent place to stay and a very nice experience
