Nice boat, food and drinks, comfy modern outfit, lots of whales.
You can choose new whales name.
I suggest Joseph for a male and Fortune for a female

We were a group of ten. The speed boat makes no more than 1 stop of 2 minutes, with zero information, to try to spot whales. The rest is speeding back to the port. You can easily get contusions because of the cold and the bumps. Is not about the nature , that can be wild and unexpected. It's just that they have no idea how to serious spot animals or interact with people. The boat is also very small, my sit was in the front and it was ok, but the ones behind had zero space in between. 200 euros thrown away. The best picture I took was a bird. And I've learnt nothing about whales. The manager and crew completely ignored the complains. Preposterous experience.

We saw very small whales, but it was a great experience nonetheless. It's a 30min bus ride from Akureyri to the boat. Make sure to wear the red suits they give you, they are warm and waterproof. A lot of people got sick and went to the back to get better and it was a bit disgusting.

Friendly and especially competent workers and guides who know how to organize a whale watching trip. When I'll be back in Iceland I'll do it again with them for sure! :)

I booked the Express whale watching tour and I am SO happy I did! The experience with the whales and porpoises felt so personal and intimate - even just being in the rib boat itself was great!
The super friendly staff at Elding are all very knowledgable and passionate for all sea and even bird life making the whole tour even more amazing.
I recommend to everyone to take the Express tour, especially photographers as it gives you that lower perspective :)response / report this review -

This was such an amazing experience.
You never know for sure if you see whales, but luckily we did. We saw a lot of backs and tails of the whales on this boat trip.
Nice boat, you can sit indoor and outdoor. You can wear a thermos overall which is recommended when you are going outside.
The people on the boat help you spot the whales and tell some more about them.response / report this review -

This was a first whale watching trip for us, and the Elding Co. did not disappoint!! The staff were friendly and helpful, from the ticket office to the vessel. The guide on board, a Brazilian oceanographer named Manu, not only taught us a great deal about what the whale is about, she did so with infectious excitement and obvious love of what she does. To cap it all off, we were incredibly fortunate to have good weather and to see a humpback breaching, something we were told is a rarity in the feeding grounds of the fjord (more common in breeding grounds). A beautiful experience with a well-equppied, highly knowledgeable crew.

Great experience, the staff gave us a very warm welcome and the guide had loads of knowledge to share with us. The boat tour itself was enough to fill my expectations, but wow! What a beautiful and singular sensation

We went on a RIB boat (pardon the redundancy) that gave us the proximity that made the experience so much more personal and beautiful.
The guide was friendly and welcoming and so were the humpback whales breaching and blowing water all over. There was also a pod of porpoises lurking around although they preferred to keep their distance.

Good tour company and the whales in Akureyri are magic. You are visiting a natural habit and in most of the cases the whales are there. When you see them they will recharge your soul battery 100%.
