A lovely restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. On offer is a good range of fresh seafood and the prices reasonable.
Great food and great service. Ideal place to take your significant other for an awesome dinner when visiting Iceland.
Delicious food with great service! The name is a bit confusing 'cause they serve langoustiner not lobster that most people think of. But still recommend going there because the food is great!
Very bad service from the waiter and waitress(looks like foreign workers from their accent). They were extremely rude and racist ! They showed 2 blonde men who don't have a reservation after me and my husband to their table while they asked me to wait. The irony is I have a dinner reservation! To make matter worse , this will be my 3rd time dining in the restaurant. The owner of the restaurant should teach some manners to the staffs since this is supposedly to be a 'high class' restaurant. Customers pay high price for excellent service and quality of food. Unfortunately not in this case. In the F & B industry , service level is very important because without customers like me dining in the restaurant, the restaurant has to cease operation and the 2 waiter and waitress will not even hold a job. Definitely will not visit this place the next time I'm in Reykjavik.
Upper class seafood restaurant in downtown Reykjavik. They serve other stuff besides seafood. It is of course very pricey but so is everything in Iceland. I have mixed impressions of the goodness of the food, it depends on what you order. The lobster soup is a go.
food is ok but service is way too slow. the only waitress is busy cleaning the tables not pay attention to the customers
Extremely overrated. The food was not even that good for the money we paid..
Cod fillet is wonderful. Fresh food. My husband had lamb and really enjoyed it. Very quaint nice location we had a seat at a window the snow added to the ambience. Great wait staff too!
Amazing! Langoustine all the ways. All the amazing ways. Such tasty food and great service.
If u just wanna try the taste of humar, u can order the 150 grams humar starter.
Vastly overpriced and food wasn't great at all. (Yes, I know everything in Iceland is expensive, but this restaurant is especially so, even by Icelandic standards!)
Had the langoustine feast. The soup was incredible. Extremely sweet and tasty.
But the good review ends there.
The langoustine tails (main dish) was cooked with some crust that had an overpowering taste of dill, which completely destroyed the natural sweetness of the langoustine. The dessert was creme brûlée, which certainly wasn't anything to shout about.
I'm writing this review 1 week after I had visited this restaurant, and I have had langoustines at 4 other restaurants around the the Icelandic ring road and all the others had been way way better at about half or 2/3 of the price.
I'd say only come to Lobsterhouse if you are desperate for langoustines and have spare cash to burn.
Very disappointed 2 small bowls of watery soup 1glass of wine and 1 bottle of beer £64. Thats a rip off
Belated review but amazing Seafood bisque. Really cosy atmosphere. Lovely staff.
Overall excellent dining experience! We have two sets including lobster soup and lobster as main course with creme brulee as desert. Best lobster meal ever tasted !
Found this restaurant advertised on a leaflet provided by Icelandair suggesting this restaurant plus a few others to visit for food.
Greeted and seated professionally and then we ordered our food which was well presented and well cooked. I personally had never tried lobster before, and wasn't disappointed!! I'm sure I'd find it hard to find somewhere who does it just as good..
Desserts also fantastic, well worth having.
Our waiter was top class, friendly and informative about the food and Iceland.
Fantastic food and a great place to celebrate my wife's 30th birthday!! Expensive but worth it!))
Very tasty food, well presented. Also, better than expected vegetarian options. Excellent service. Expensive, but then so is everywhere in Iceland ☺️
If you love lobster then this is the place for you. Best lobster I've ever had..
