The guided tour was definitively worth it, since most of the written cards of the exhibitions were in Icelandic (but they are working very hard into translating). The guide had a lot of knowledge and was very friendly with us. We learned soo much more about Icelandic lifestyle and history in only 2 hours than our whole 2 weeks Iceland round trip.
Unfortunately only part of the museum was open. What we have seen near the restaurant and in the separate building was nice. It gives you a good idea of what life was like.
Impressive collection of vintage objects of daily life. Presented in original houses and in a museum. The cafeteria had delicious cakes and all kind of hot and cold beverages. A must see!
