We were booked into Stracta by Tour.is and could not be happier with this hotel. I would come back to Iceland just to stay here for a weekend. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant has incredible food. The free breakfast is warm and delicious. Best of all, the rooms are spacious and have a great design. Absolutely loved staying here.

We stayed here for 2 night and place was very nice rooms basic and beds a bit narrow but facilities very good the only down side is that they offer a northern lights alert via the phone in your room the only problem with that is there is NO phone in the rooms so don't know how that works but like I said very good otherwise and breakfast is absolutely fantastic with every choice available hot ,cold , fruit really impressed and they supply a take away breakfast of something light if you have to check out before breakfast to get to airport

Fresh new hotel in Hella. Not much to do in Hella so not a place for city types. The food in hotel was superb with fantastic buffet style breakfast and bistro style bar for evening meal. Spotlessly clean.

Great hotel, really enjoyed jacuzzi and breakfast was amazing a wide variety, great view from my window, cosy soft beds and a number of local shops. Staff was really pleasant

Nice and clean modern hotel. We had a lengthy plunge in the hot tub praying to see the Northern Lights. Sadly we didn't see the lights but our stay was fun none the less.

Most awesome Staff i ever met. They are the second best after the amazing nature around them. I would rate them 6 out of 5. the food is a dream! They use local meat and fish and are super sustainable. The prices are fair, the cooks do a really good job. Everyone considering staying Here, do it! You will not regret it.

We were in Iceland to be married and most of our 22 guests stayed at Stracta. We also had our reception at the hotel and it was absolutely perfect! The price was excellent, especially when compared to other hotels in the area. It is spotlessly clean and the breakfast buffet has a great variety of food. If you eat breakfast here you can probably skip lunch. My guests used the 2 large hot tubs daily. As for the wedding, the food was the best food I have ever had at a wedding and many of our guests agreed; salmon, lamb, chicken, herring, chocolate mousse cake and truffles, different Icelandic cheeses. I am so happy we decided to have the reception at Stracta. Highly recommend this hotel, and we will be back.

This place is a gem! It has a variety of accommodation options, ranging from ensuite rooms to small rooms with nearby shared bathrooms. We stayed in the latter, which were clean, comfortable, and a bit cramped. What makes this place stand out are two things: the HUGE breakfast buffet included in the price, and the hot tubs/saunas. The breakfast spread is a dream come true; be sure to fill up, because food is incredibly expensive in Iceland. The hot tubs and saunas are divine after a day of sight seeing. For the golfers and speedgolfers among you, note that the hotel is just 4 km from the Hella Golf Club, a lovely 18-hole inland links course carved into the volcanic landscape.

Quiet, modern Hotel on highway 1.

Slightly small, somewhat spartan, but very clean and comfortable rooms with both ensuite and shared bathrooms. Be certain you know which your booking when you book it. You might get stuck at 2 a.m. needing a toilet and not having one in your room.

Quality food. Hi prices, like the rest of the country.

Very pleasant, accommodating star.

Well maintained, Community Hot tubs and saunas on premises.

Either they rent horses on property OR I had some very interesting neighbours sharing a room Down the Hall for me. I'm not certain which.

Three star plus.

After four flights and three nights without a bed or shower, we barely made it to the hotel conscious. However, the warm atmosphere of the hotel and it's friendly staff immediately raised our spirits. Thank you! Would recommend :)

Stayed at the hotel 2 nights. Hotel is a 30-40km drive from loads of natural attractions - hence, a great location. But that is about all that is great about the hotel. Beds are very uncomfortable, not to mention the pillows, which I think have not been changed in 10 years! Bathroom was not super clean.
Hot tub and sauna facilities available, but neither work all thay great.
Breakfast buffet is included, but lacks substance.

Would have given a 4 if the hotel was cheap, but at £200 for the 2 nights it is not. It is definitely not worth the money!

Great staff who welcomed us in from the rain. A clean and modern room with good service. There was a buffet dinner and also a cafe with pastries, small snacks, and drinks. The included breakfast was excellent.

Our accommodations were not hotel grade - more like a summer camp. Room was tiny with tiny beds you literally fall out of when you turn over and too small to fit two large suitcases side by side comfortably. Oh and shared bathrooms with no mention in the description. It looks like all the money went into the main building with lobby restaurant bar and lounge and cheapest possible way to create track home grade sheds for the accommodations. For half the price and proper mentions this might have been ok but for what they charged this was a rip off. On the plus side the breakfast is very good and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Still would recommend you only stay here if you have no other options.

This hotel is nice and clean and won't break your budget. The free breakfast is amazing. It is located in the small town of Hella. There is a grocery store and a gas station across the street. There is a restaurant inside which served okay food. Also love that they have a few hot tubs here.
