One of the best places we stayed at during an 8 day trip to Iceland. The room was very spacious and clean, the common spaces were modeled very specially and welcoming. The breakfast was fresh and amazing as well. The hosts were awesome and funny and helped us plan our following day around that area of Iceland. The place is a few miles from Selfoss so you are away from any light pollution which gives a higher chance to see the northern lights. We got to see the aurora from the guesthouse.

This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed at. The host was extremely rude and unpleasant. First of all, you are not allowed to wear shoes inside the house. Fine, but they do not provide slippers! We were given a room in a basement like area and the floor was very cold. The room smelled like rotten wood ( Not even exaggerating). The shared bathroom was not so pleasant. The sink was clogged. I needed to take some meds before bedtime and needed some water. The toilet was disgusting so I could not drink the water from there. Hence, I went upstairs to the kitchen and was filling my water bottle. The owner lady suddenly showed up and yelled at me. I said I was extremely sorry as I had no idea that customers were not allowed to get water from the kitchen. But she kept yelling as if I was trying to steal something from her kitchen. It was totally insulting as she kept pointing towards the door and asked me to leave!!
I mean I get that she does not allow customers in the kitchen but she never told us. Also, she did not have to be so crazily rude about it. Especially when I said that I did not know! All I did was fill my water bottle with WATER. I felt so insulted and sleepless that night.
Despite many positive reviews of this place by others, I had an awful experience. Would NOT RECOMMENDresponse / report this review -

Honestly had a horrible time here. We got married in Iceland and brought around 20 people to this guesthouse just for a night. We were the ONLY guests with the exception of ONE other guest and in a celebratory mood. We were completely YELLED at by the owner the next morning for 1) Being too loud (we were in a common space with the door CLOSED just talking - the 1 other guest wasn't even on our floor) and 2) Using her fridge even though we ASKED the staff if we could please put something in the refrigerator (it was baby formula for a BABY). She completely yelled at us and after this being the 3rd time going to Iceland I have never met anyone in the whole country that was THIS unpleasant. It was truly insulting, especially since we had brought the place so much business.
