Skógafoss waterfall is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland, located on the south coast about 32 km west of the village Vík. The waterfall is about 62 m high and about 25 meters wide. The river is called Skógá and if you hike to the top of the waterfall Skógafoss and follow the river you can find more beautiful waterfalls

Another amazing water in Iceland. It's harder to get good photos because of all the people and they way the waterfall is, but beautiful none the less. There's free parking which is nice, and there's a restaurant as well. We didn't eat there but it seemed pretty popular. Definitely check this place out.

It's a waterfall in Iceland
So it's pretty and it draws a crowd.

If you love waterfalls you'll love this.
Biggest upside of this waterfall is that it is possible to camp very close to it (in the summer). So if you like camping and have camping gear during your trip this would be a great spot to spend the night

Out of all the waterfalls Iceland has to offer this one was No1 on my list. It's a beautiful drive around the south of the island and this is a definite picnic spot. We were here smack bang in the middle of winter and it was like a winter's wonderland. Amazing and didn't disappoint.

Skogafoss was looking gloriously beautiful on the day we visited. We took a couple of photos from the bottom and then decided to take on the stairs!! My advice is to take your time. It's not as easy as it looks! This waterfall is a must see if you're travelling along the south coast.

I got to go here twice, and both times it was magical. The first time, there wasn't a rainbow, but the second time I visited it was a bright sunny day, and it was there in all it's shining glory. It seemed like something out of a movie.

Also, it's very pleasant to see the sheep roaming the nearby fields.

My special moment: after huffing and puffing my way up the 120 steps to the top, I was greeted with an impressive view of the rushing falls.

When visiting skogafoss please go up the stairs . The views are fantastic. But don't stop there . There is a metal gate . Go ahead and keep walking for a few miles and be amazed by the waterfalls. One after the other. Please try not to step in the soft moss and tiny flora. The place is unreal. Gorgeous !!! Do not get distracted with the magic surouding you and watch you time to come back . There is parking down .

Good parking have a nice restroom in the information center. We walked up the stairs and did a short hike and saw many waterfall. Wish we got a map to know more about the hiking route. We saw many waterfall and it's beautiful. Would recommend

Big gorgeous waterfall that you can walk under. Be sure to wear waterproof gear from head to toe if you plan on getting up close!

I camped here great facilities.. Expensive shop and bus bearing visitors use the campsite toilet( one toilet and two urinals.. )build toilet block to facilitate like the one at at Skafatell.

Camped there. Toilets not very clean.. showers the same. For one night stay okay.. but many people around visiting the waterfall.

It is a nice a waterfall. Smaller than Skógafoss but it is nice to walk behind the waterfall Does lack loos but I am sure the Icelandic folk have a very good reason for that !

After driving the whole south coast of Iceland, this waterfall doesn't really impress. It's also overloaded with tour buses and frankly, there is much better scenery to be found in the region. Stop if you have time to spare, otherwise skip.

Good access to the waterfall, and its an impressive waterfall. But no other facilities loos etc like the Seljandfoss falls up the road has got. The local hotel restaurant is good though. Not good for northerm lights viewing. High surrounding rocks restrict vision and there's a lot of excess light.

Love this waterfalls all over, this one you can get up close and personal. The cold weather made the ground/stairs a little scary, but once you get past the fear you'll enjoy it

Typical parking lot for car and bus. Most tourists take pics of falls and leave. Can be crowded during tourist season.
