Great buffet with the right amount of choices. Can't beat the price for a lunch buffet in Reykjavik. The lady who greeted us was extremely friendly and very happy to have us eat there. The soup is exceptional! The dishes are a tiny bit too salty, but then again, what restaurant food isn't.
Amazing fish and chips. We are English and eat it almost every week. Freshest fish in the world and the staff are so friendly. Huge portions and you get soup and salad with your food! A must visit when coming to Iceland!
Definitely the seafood in Reykjavik! I had the fish 🐠 soup wich had every known sea organism inside, it was amazing but huge portion so I was disappointed I couldn't eat all of it! The staff was amazing too! Will definitely go again!
The head chef greatest us immediately with enthusiasm and joy. I enjoyed the variety and quality of the food. The lunch buffet has the best value and I highly recommend this place especially since the Saga museum is right across the road.
Very good value lunch buffet. Food was delicious and fresh. The soup was so tasty. Love the salmon and the brown sauce. Try putting some picnic/potato crisps on the mashed potato-fish, it’s awesome! The staff was very nice and the owner was friendly. Toilet was clean.
Absolutely great. Good prices, cosy place, clean toilets and wonderful staff. The buffet was amazing. Thanks
Beautifully delicious food. Absolute yummy!! Cold bar included in the price of main menu, nice staff and low prices.
Excellent quality and local variety. Very friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced especially lunch buffet. A must if in reykjavik. Particularly enjoyed the fish cakes, soup and plokkfisker. Brilliant owner and free book of recipes.
Great little seafood restaurant, food is excellent and the buffet very good value. Nice family run place, really enjoyed our meal. Staff very friendly.
Very good restaurant. You can choose from either buffet or menu. I had the seafood pan as shown in the picture which is extraordinary. Fish is fresh and tasty. Nice staff. Even open on Christmas Eve.
We had the Langoustine and seafood soup and the crumbed haddock. Seafood is so fresh and we got a salad bar and another seafood soup to go along with it. Great quality and portions are massive.
The least expansive lunch I had and it actually filled me up. Greeted by the owner. He was really nice to talk to and you could tell he was really into his food. Made with love and real Icelandic ingredients
Ate here around 8pm on a week day and the place was a ghost town. There was one other couple and most of the buffet was already packed. Our experience here was not nearly as good as others that have commented about this restaurant. Maybe it was just the time of evening we came, but the food was average and the service was not great. If you are looking for a meal that is a little romantic I would say this is not the spot. Overall average in my opinion.
Grate place for fresh seafood in town! Good value for money in a grate friendly atmosphere! It's more like bistro! Must try the famous sea food soup, and seafood pan!
We entered the restaurant greeted by the chef. He was super polite and explained what was in each dish as someone in our party was lactose intolerant. We went for the seafood buffet and liked everything. Typical Icelandic prices, but super fresh fish (the fish market is across the street). Overall a great experience!
Deliciois see food!!! All high quality. Highly recommended.
Lovely service, incredible food, superb prices ;)
This place was one of the more afforable excellent seafood places in Reykjavik. We highly enjoyed the fish of the day. The fish is salted nicely and practically melted in your mouth. I chose the mashed fish with rye bread. It was creamy and satisfying. You also get a soup and access to the salad bar with your main meal. The fish soup is also very good. I was initially shocked by how expensive all of iceland is, but we lucked out in choosing this place. It's a great deal, considering! There's just two people running the place, but the service is friendly. You will not regret your choice.
This place is definitely worth the walk. Eating out in Iceland is so painfully expensive, but this restaurant was reasonable and delicious.
If you order any main entree you get to partake in the salad/appetizer bar along with getting a bowl, with bread, of the soup of the day.
The chef came out at the end and chatted for a bit. (This seems to be a common theme in the reviews) He went to another table before he visited mine. He chatted jovially and asked if everyone enjoyed their meal and then proceeded to hand out these little cookbooks of his personal Icelandic receipies. Whatever is on the menu is in his little book, it's even got a cartoon version of himself on the cover and throughout offering little quips and tricks about the meal. It's like I was handed the Icelandic version of the Half Blood Prince's potion textbook! I've been meaning to find a decent cookbook to take home and try recepies and here one just fell in my lap!
Worth the walk, a lot of fun, and reasonably priced.
1st time in Iceland. Got the catch of the day. Freshest and best tasting fish I've ever had in my life. The soup of the day was equally amazing as well. The chef came out and spoke to me personally and started a brief convo. I thought that was pleasant. I thought my event trip to Oahu was going to remain top of my list for freshest meal, but this restaurant in Reykjavik topped it. Next time I'm in Iceland, I will be back here.
Highly recommend it.
Got the fish stew which includes a side soup and salad. The stew had no fish in it at all but the flavor was good. The seafood side soup also had nothing in it. Icelandic rye bread was good. My meal was 2900 isk, equivalent of $30 usd, definitely not cheap as is everything in this country.
Very good value for money for Iceland. Food lovely and very good service.
Good seafood in a simple setting for a price that's nothing short of competitive for Reykjavik. Run by honest, friendly folks. Would go here again on my next trip to Iceland.
Great prices! Great authentic Icelandic food and a very friendly staff, highly recommended for lunch or dinner!
Super friendly, approachable prices compared to the rest of iceland and the buffett is a great deal if your hungry not to metion that the food is super tasty!
