The amenities are clean, showers cost 300 krona, a place for cleaning dishes. Compared to other places this is good value. (1200,- pP) A friendly Lady collects the money.
BEAUTIFUL PLACE! They charge for the site even if there is no one in the evening. They come around and collect a fee between 1500-2000isk in the morning. More instructions are in the bathroom
Great campsite right next to the waterfall. The toilets are 200kr payable via an honesty box. We stayed in March in our car and it wasn't too busy. There are electricity ports for your camper if they take em, or a standard powerpoint in the bathroom. No one tried to collect a fee, but there is a usage fee as far as i know.
You got 2 showers (which you have to pay for, ask the camp manager when she comes to get the payments for coins to shower) and toilets, the basic stuff. BUT you are located next to a gorgeous waterfall and next to the start of one of the best 12h hikes!
There is only 1 stall in the men's room, and 2 in the ladies. Showers are 300kr for 5 minutes. Bathrooms were being cleaned while we were there. Not a bad spot. Wake up to a beautiful waterfall! ok
Very nice campground and also very flat which is nice. As many people have said already, "YES! The restrooms are not of the highest quality." With that said I have seen restrooms that are much worse. Really the only inconvienience is that tour buses are coming and going all day long so the campsite feels a bit crowded in the morning and afternoon but at night everyone leaves and there are only a couple dozen campers which is very nice. I loved this site simply because you are right next to the waterfall and what a site it is. Great location Loved this spot.
Crowded campsite with almost no facilities. You pay here money for nothing, only two dirty toilets for whole campsite. Icelanders should sometimes visit western Europe to see how campsites can look like. Much better to camp outside of this area somewhere along the paths.
What a difference to all other campsites we had so far on Iceland. This is a popular campsite for hikers in the area and they manage to have 1 (in words "one") toilet with the resulting queues and smell. Same for the shower (no s). Lots of complains to the service person, who was so overwhelmed one could almost feel sorry for her. It's hard to find another option if you want to start hiking the next morning, but if you have one, go for it. This place is simply making money and otherwise does not give a sh..
Works good for quick overnight stay or when you start Laugavegur. Otherwise two showers and few toilets are not enough for that exposed camp. Accessible.
Showers costing 100kr coins, not much amenities. Poor campsite.
Very nice location, near to the waterfall and hiking paths. But the toilets are just plain nasty. The smell is very strong. The maintenance of these facilities are very very poor. Showers cost extra. There are camping places far better then this one. But if you aren't picky, then go for it.
Very good location. Other than that I cannot find anything positive. The bathroom and showers were filthy, we had to pay more for a 3 minute shower. It wasn't worth the money.
Terrible place!!! No info!!!
Avoid this campsite if you can. The waterfall is beautiful but that is all I can say positive. Showers are not included in the 1000 krona fee. 300 gets you 5 minutes of cold water if the other shower is running
And the showers and bathroom are absolutely filthy. Just stay away.
