Don't recommend. Location is central, food is bland+customer service, dismal. Literally just finished dining. Why the 2 stars?
Because the waiters are instructed to seat tourists downstairs (dingy dive bar with sticky tables and odd color soft seating) when there are seats upstarts, where the atmosphere is antique fisherman cottage with long candles on each table. Locals are sent upstairs. The waiter told me this when I confronted him that I made reservations and should've been taken upstairs. Yup, Will tell all my colleagues and tourists I ferry in that they should avoid this place unless you look or speak Icelandic.
Ordered lamb shoulders. Huge piece, but it needs to be served hot, FYI. Lacks flavor. Bread is extra charge, in case you were wondering.response / report this review -

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, burgers are great and so is the beer. A very central location which is easy to find. Good for watching people passing through the square.

700 ISK happy hour beers and temporary tattoos make this place so sexy. The blonde bartender knew her stuff. There’s a giant boar head on the wall that my aunt took a picture with but was too afraid to touch because it was a bit scary. Lamb waffle fries were great especially because my aunt eats nothing but French fries and candy and I have no idea how she has the amount of energy she has, with that kind of diet. Maybe we all should eat three orders of French fries a day and pop peanut M&Ms in between and live a better life.

The burger was PHENOMENAL! Truffle mayo, beef cooked to your preferred doneness, and they even toast the buns! Served with seasoned waffle fries. On top of that, the service was stellar!

Went here for lunch after a walk round the city, I’d say average pricing not cheap yet not a rip off, ordered our food and 45 minutes had gone by and people that came in after had already got there food, So as you do you ask where your food is and they went to see what had happened and came back admitted they had made a mistake and sincerely apologies said that our food is now on its way and gave it us on the house! Don’t think they could of handled the situation better. Lovely food lovely staff! Definitely would go back there to eat!

This is my first meal to having in town! This restaurant just simply nice and too fresh for their mussel, lamp and pork. Couldn’t find any excuse for not giving a 5 stars! Highly recommended!

After wandering around downtown Reykjavik at 10p on New Year’s Eve we were just happy to find a table somewhere. Our expectations were low given our situation but we were beyond impressed. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing! I’m not a seafood person at all but I ordered the langa fish and LOVED it. Literally the best fish dish I’ve ever eaten but being that I rarely order fish take that for what you will.

My favorite restaurant in Iceland! Everything from the ambiance to the food was perfection. My husband and I ordered the bacon wrapped dates, which were amazing. My husband ordered the burger and I ordered the seafood soup. Both were OUT OF THIS WORLD!!

Casual pub with a hip-rural Icelandic vibe. I had the award winning burger. The red onion sauce and truffle mayo dressing made it a bit too sweet for my liking. My partner had the lamb steak, which was clearly the better choice. It was cooked perfectly and paired with vegetables. Didn't have dessert but the beer selection was great. Nice choice of local Icelandic beers.

Baby it’s cold outside - Iceland has just issued a weather warning for later and man can you feel it coming in. This pub called to us from across the square as we decided to find some brunch.
Mega-brunch is bacon, 2 fried eggs, ham, sausages, more ham, baby potatoes, beans, cheese, tomatoes and sourdough bread. 2890 ISK which is pricey with the British pound where it is thanks to Brexit and interest rates but as it has come with a side order of getting out of the wind and rain and into a warm, inviting eatery it felt worth it plus it’s our last brunch before we fly back tomorrow so what the hell.
It’s an enormous restaurant over four floors, you’re warmly welcomed at the door, get a table or sit at the bar.

I've eaten many sandwiches before in my life. It turns out the lamb sandwich here was the best sandwich I've ever had. The bread is incredible the meat is tender and amazing.
I'm not joking, I am thinking about moving to Reykjavik just because of this sandwich.

My wife and I really enjoyed this place on our trip to Iceland. It is right in the middle of the nightlife and offers lots of outdoor seating which is great for people watching. Although the prices are high (like the rest of the country) they offer great happy hour specials.

This was my favorite place I visited in reykjavik. The unassuming building just goes and goes for 4 floors. Their food is excellent and the service was also great. Atmosphere and decor was great.

I went by here for dinner after seeing ratings of the best burger in town. It did not disappoint. Not only the burgers, but the beer selection was nearly all local choices. Staff was very attentive and the atmosphere is very comfortable. Gets busy in the evenings so definitely consider happy hour if you want a spot at the bar.

Great food and service. Happy hour until 6pm which is half price for beer and cocktails. The burgers was one of the best ever and the lamb shoulder for two was perfect!

Came here for dinner and the food was delicious. I had the lamb steak and my friend had the pork chop and they were excellent. Well-seasoned, well-cooked. Vegetables were well-prepared. The service was great, too. I finished with the trio of cream puffs for dessert, which were scrumptious. I ate way more than I should have. I was quite pleasantly surprised for a place right off the main square.

Love it and I'll be retuning for my birthday dinner tomorrow. From the dried raspberries in my beer to the gorgeous decor to the impeccable food (langoustines, lamb, mussels and skyr). Great prix fixe meal options.

Truly love this place and had a wonderful experience with two girls I'd met at my hostel earlier, sampling appetizers! Our favorites were the Minke Whale, and Smoked Arctic Char. The bartender gave us recommendations and we really appreciate that, everything was spot on and they are open later than most the other places for food. A must visit!

Delicious but along with other Icelandic restaurants is a bit pricey. I had the burger with the waffle mayo fries. So good! My friend got the seafood stew and it tasted amazing as well. The atmosphere was cozy and hopping with weekend buzz.

Food! Glorious food! Lamb sandwich was amazing! Lamb shank, falls off the bone (delicious) and meat of the day was freaking beef tenderloin! Small / tight seating but everyone was friendly!

Great restaurant, the inside is decorated beautifully and the food doesn't disappoint either. My Girlfriend and I had Ling, the portion was massive and the taste was amazing.
Price wise it was expensive but that's what we've come to expect in Iceland. The Ling was 4K Krona and a beer was 1,250.
