Awesome please by the dock, nicely lighted. Came in just for the soups : had a fish stew and an asparagus soup. Fish stew was awesome. Asparagus soup was similar to cream of broccoli but here the asparagus taste wasn't really really getting picked up. The waitress were very welcoming.

The reviews below hit the nail on the head: This hidden gem, the oldest restaurant in Reykjavik, serves great food with friendly service off the central Rekjavik beaten path. Good beer, great fish, great view, very resonable prices. More than worth a trip out to the harbour area, especially when combined with the Maritime Museum after it re-opens after renovations late spring 2018. We ate at Kaffivagninn on both arrival and departure in Reykjavik, and it will be on our list next time!

Do not leave Iceland before eating the Arctic Char here! So good, and coming from a meat lover that eats fish once a year. Made another reservation in 2 days (they are closed tomorrow), can't wait to eat the Arctic Char again

Memorable food with a view 🇮🇸 - Sitting next to rocking boats, while having a delicious fresh cod and a nice cold beer was the perfect treat. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, local friendly and reasonably priced. From my standpoint it was the best meal I had and don't get me wrong, I ate very well in 🇮🇸. All main courses come with a soup and the portions are very generous. It's slightly out of the tourist path which makes it even more appealing. A total must try.

Cute little diner right on the dock with great food and a gorgeous view. The menu is simple but solid, and the prices are reasonable for Reykjavik.

If you look closely you can even see Hallgrimskirkja I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

This place is a little gem. The food was lovely, full of flavour I had the Arctic char, and my fiance had the cod with the shirmps and both were amazing. The staff is very polite. I liked the fact that when we were dining there, there was a mix of locals and tourists. It was good value for money, considering Icelandic average prices. I definitely recommend this place.

Really nice little place next to the dock. A bit out of the way but well worth the visit. Happy hour 4 til 7 and great fish and chips, Iceland style. Nice staff too.

Hidden gem. On a recent vacation in Reykjavik, I tried this quaint little restaurant for dinner on the recommendation from a local. Easy to find right on the harbor and less than a block from a bus stop. Food was delicious, service was friendly, and prices were a little lower than most in the heart of downtown. My only regret was not saving room for dessert. Definitely recommend stopping in if you get the chance.

We had an amazing meal here, we stopped for lunch and it was fantastic, I had the fish stew-it was easily enough for 2, but absolutely divine. My boyfriend had the cod loin, he was amazed, we both love food and eat out a lot and we both felt this was the best meal we had, had in quite some time. The waitress was really friendly and kind as there was a guy who appeared unwell and I watched the staff trying to help him. I would love to come here again

This place is fantastic. I had a scrumptious swine n cheese croissant. Oh it was such a glorious swine. The building smells of a fine salmon.

Fish was tasteless. I also felt sick afterwards :(
Average prices but not worth the money. Too touristic

Loved this place: cheap and comfortable. The menu is mainly fish, but they have a tasty vegan dish if you ask for it (and it was delicious). They also offers soup and caffee, as well as the usual water and bread with butter, included in the price. The amount of food was generous, so I didn't have the chance to try the cakes and pies (and trust me, they looked really good!)

A fantastic restaurant with the best fish and chips I've ever had. It's reasonably priced for Iceland. Ordering is cafeteria style, so you pay first and get your meal served at your table.

Literally the best fish I've ever had in my life (Arctic Char). Simply fantastic, a bit out of the way, but well worth the walk.

Menu is very fish focused. Prices are all above 2000 per item. Breakfast has more regular options and is very affordable (mostly between 700 - 1500 per item). We experienced quick service, good portion sizes and good tasting food! Nice decorated restaurant as well with a little view on the harbour.
