Another nice waterfall in Iceland. These ones don’t have the best access by road so it’s quite annoying to go with a normal car (not 4x4). Also if you want to have a good view of the waterfalls and take good pictures you should go through a difficult path for old people.
Our 'first' waterfall in Iceland and admittedly one of my favourites. Impressive, how in a completely flat plane there can be a canyon with waterfalls like this. It might be way smaller than the 'big ones' but its very good accessible and there are a lot of nice viewpoints from all sides (including the bridge).
Beautiful place to visit arctic tours Iceland can take you there
Quite cool place - beautiful cascade and beautiful canyon. A little secluded, not many tourists. Totally a must!
Great place, no fences / ropes, one can go close to the waterfalls.
Remarkable place! Definitely worth the detour from Ring Road. You can walk down and get up close to the falls. This was far better than Glanni waterfall, which is not as impressive and can only be seen from a distance.
You can get very close to the waterfall! Very photogenic area. Has a picnic bench for lunch with a view.
Great place! There is a beautiful waterfall which flows into a narrow canyon. There is a bridge from where you can see in both directions. You can also walk around a bit next to and under the bridge.
Incredible gorge a few minutes away from N1. Cool photo stop, great place taking a rest and enjoy the great wonders of nature. This is a 50m deep gorge crossed by a small yet strong river. Caution is also advised!
Nice waterfall and canyon. You can walk here for some time to admire both.
Very beautiful canyon
10 minute detour off main road. Really quiet when we arrived, had it to ourselves for nearly an hour. Stunning when frozen over.
Kolugljúfur is the name of the gorge in the river Víðidalsá in front of the farm Víðidalstunga. It is over one km long and about 40-60 m deep. The river drops into the gorge in two scenic waterfalls named Kolufossar falls. It is a beautiful sight and not far from the Ring Road Nr. 1 in the northern region in Iceland.
Great foss. It's worth the time and the views around are beautiful (as always). You can wamk around and get beautiful pictures. View from the bridge ore under.
Beautiful waterfall and canyon just 10 min from the highway
