Out of the beaches I visited this is by far the best. It is truly black sand (others described as black sand are grey pebbles) and had the basalt cliffs and the amazing sea stacks.
It truly is otherworldly.

Bartender was very knowledgeable about all the beers and alcohol. Only three beers are discounted during happy hour, but definitely worth a visit to talk to the bartender about the different brews and try some of the beers.

The toilet come with an amazing view BUT you will have to pay to use it.. Saw some tourist didnt pay and sneak in which is s disgusting behaviour.. 😒 The beach is really nice and clean and hope there are more responsible tourist.. 👍🏻

The best beach in Iceland that I've been to. Be careful of the waves as they can come up shore quite far. Also becareful of climbing the columns of stone as it can be quite slippery during winter.

Amazing! We visited in mid April. No crowds. Crisp cold air and daylight till 9pm. Rigged coastline, the black sands are amazing, specially if you get the right light for your photos.

The views are nice, even on rainy days. The beach access is roped off so you can't go there.

Looking back towards the town of Vik gives a really great perspective of this part of the island. You can see a lot of the coast as the black sands spread out along the shore.

Looks a little like Dragonstone. :)

It used to be a really great place to walk around and look at the ocean. Now everything is behind a rope fence which is placed very conservatively. Even the safe paths are now fenced out.

Amazing place, although a bit crowded. People tend to climb the stones, it is a bit annoying But otherwise the beach is huge and you can walk around pretty well.

The black sand and the waves create a wonderful scenery. Don't miss it!!

This war partially closed when we were here but views were still amazing. We hoped to see puffins but ended up seeing seals instead.

Deadly and beautiful location that is worth visiting. It is just a short drive off of the 1. During our visit, the winds here were by far the strongest in all of Iceland! Respect the power of mother nature.

On one side you get to see the amazing black sand beach, on the other side you have this amazing natural bridge where you'll spend great deal of time taking pictures.
There's a tourist info cabin being constructed here, so expect soon a gift shop and toilet.

Yeah, it's really freaking beautiful, but an entire family was swept out to sea there today and the mother drowned, so signs and ropes signaling you NOT to walk somewhere are meant to keep you from DYING! I'm about to make my third trip to Iceland. One of my favorite places on earth. But the sea is deadly. Get that through your head and never forget it, ever.

Fantastic. Went in the morning, the weather was good and the waves were powerful the basalt columns are beautiful. It's a short drive off the main road; definitely worth a stop.
