We really enjoyed our visit to an ice cave with Katlatrack. After a lot researching for ice caving tours, we found this small company with great reviews and opinions and booked a tour for our party of 3. It was the best decision ever, a morning of adventure in Iceland with a local guide, and it was a personal tour for the three of us, since we were the only ones in the excursion!!.

If you don´t like the idea of a big tour bus with crowds of people, then avoid all the big companies and book this trip. They will take you to off the beaten paths and give you the opportunity to enjoy the impressive Iceland nature in the most complete loneliness. No one in miles around!
We had a great morning exploring the glacier and visiting an ice cave, riding in the awesome super jeep around unimaginable landscapes. Our guide Gummi was absolutely charming and fun! The weather was cloudy and windy, but we enjoyed entering the cave and being under the glacier. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, so do not hesitate to book with Katlatrack!

This tour was excellent! We went as a couple but I would not hesitate to bring my 3 kids (age 9-12). The walk was easy, the views were incredible. Gudjon was a fantastic guide - very informative, fun and safe. This was one of my favorite activities in Iceland. A truly unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it.

Decided to go to Iceland at the beginning of summer and was surprised as to why the ice caves were all melting (oops). After a ton of research, we found on Katlatrack and saw the amazingly positive reviews. Booked it the night before and by morning we were exploring what was left of the ice caves near Vik. Couldn't be happier! Was totally the highlight of the entire trip-- and thanks to Guðjón for being such a great guide!

We had the great pleasure of booking a tour with the guys from Katlatrack while we were visiting Iceland in August. This was capital A for Adventure on which we had great fun. We were met with a very impressive converted Jeep Discovery and two highly motivated local guides who went the extra mile to make sure we were welcomed and had an authentic local discovery adventure away from the maddening crowds. They were punctual and gave us clear directions on how to find them in Vik.

We were taken along the old highway and then across the pumice fields to the base of the glacier where we went for a short walk to find the summer ice cave, which we were told by other tours, we would never see. Many famous movie sites were also pointed out -- such as Star Wars and Game of Thrones. We were treated to a small waterfall in the glacier and the whole experience was awesome, but not at all difficult to manage. The guides were so informative and friendly; we were not left wanting.

Another traverse of the pumice field and the over black dunes took us to the black sand beach where we spotted some puffins and terns feeding close to the shore. We got an ornithology lesson from one of the guides who was very knowledgeable of the local wildlife.

Our whole day was great. Made even better by the personal touch of the local guides. All the people in our group were made to feel welcome and important to them and this made the day very memorable. They were keen to help us make the most of the rest of our time in the area. The equipment was first class (especially the 4WD) and the James Bond surprise was a treat.

Many thanks to Katlatrack Adventure Tours. Our day with them was a highlight of our time in Iceland. Well done to all who are involved with this local business -- very professional indeed.

We knew we wanted to do something unique, exciting and outdoors when we went to Iceland. This checked all the boxes, and then some.

The guides were knowledgable, fun and put our safety first at all times. We hopped into their vans, drove out to the glacier (which was an adventure in itself!), trekked on the ice cave, then went to the black sand beaches. It was wonderful every step of the way.

Our experience with Katlatrack deserves more than 5 stars. We did the Ice Cave Tour and it was so much more wonderful than we could have imagined. Our tour day was rainy which we knew could happen in Iceland but our awesome guide Bessi told us it wouldn't be a problem. We thought he was just being a tough Icelander but the weather once we were on the Mýrdalsjökull glacier was totally clear. The glacier itself is too beautiful to try and describe, it is more than worth the trip. We got to see multiple ice caves on the glacier as well as some other beautiful spots on the glacier.

Our guide Bessi is what really made the tour over the top for us. He had a super kind and funny personality. He told us great stories and facts about the area and Iceland. I don't want to ruin some of the surprises on the tour but I will say that there is some fun local treats thrown in and Bessi could really drive the awesome Super Jeep we were in. The whole day was a once in a lifetime tour and we were so happy we booked with Katlatrack, we will always recommend them and hope to use them again next time we are in Iceland.

My friends and I went on the Super Jeep tour with Katlatrack and our experience was out of this world. The tour was intimate and the tour guides were extremely knowledgeable. They took the time to customize the tour to how "extreme" we wanted to be and made us laugh the whole time! This isn't your average, over-advertised tour - the tour guides are passionate about the environment and it shows through their enthusiastic personalities. Take this tour over any others! It was worth the drive and every single penny!!!
