This is the crown jewel of Iceland. Everyone on the diamond beach is like a child, exploring among huge chunks of ice, as if hunting for treasure. Amazing, magical place.

A bit of a drive, but totally worth it. There are giant icebergs and there is a glacier. You can often see seals and its fun to skip rocks on the smooth water. The tide can impact how many chunks of ice are floating, but it's pretty good anytime. It is a jumping-off point for some tours and glacier hikes so it can be a little crowded, but it's fun to see the huge tour vehicles too. Stop at Diamond Beach across the street on the West side of the bridge on your way out.

A piece of heaven. We walk along the east side of the lake during 3h, we saw seal on the banquise! It was stunning.

The largest glacier in Iceland! Stopped at the glacier lagoon to awe in the scenery. If the sky is clear it’s absolutely beautiful (but cold) wind of a huge glacier isn’t going to be warm so make sure you have appropriate clothing if it’s going to be windy! (Neck warmer, hats, gloves, etc)

what a fantastic place! It was quiet when we visited. Each time you go it looks different due to the constantly moving icebergs in the lagoon. Sunrise and sunset add a magical dimension!

Gem in Icelandic nature. Don't miss taking a walk alongside the west side of the lagoon towards the origins of the glacier. It's a beautiful easy trekking on a visible path (please stick to it) that takes around 2 hours 30 minutes in total back and forth with ever changing view towards floating icecubes in the lagoon in the complete wilderness. ATTENTION: WE DON'T LEAVE ANY TRASH NOR ANY SIGN OF OUR VISIT LEFT IN ICELANDIC NATURE! Please respect untouched beauty of the wild world ♥️

Jokuksarlon is not only beautiful and absolutely stunning, it is a world of its own. The icebergs broke from Iceland’s largest glacier floats beautifully and reflects blue and glistening rays back at you. Can not believe the privilege I had in seeing such an amazing sight - make sure you visit this place, it cannot be missed!!!

One of my favorite places in Iceland. Visited in December 2017. The diamond beach is amazing. Such a surreal place, although the fact that it is located right by a parking lot, and that it is infested by selfie-taking tourists, can make the experience less than idea.

Simply amazing. A place of immense beauty if you like icebergs and water. You will find icebergs floating in the lake. I was there in the winter and still loved it. It was cold and my fingers were numb due to cold but I was still enjoying the scenery.

Worth taking a walk along the inward shore, as you might see some seals. They are very curious, and like to get close and watch you. The glaciers are dynamic, and likely will be different reach time you go.
Be sure to stop just outside the lagoon on the beach. There's tons of beached ice there, and it's great for photo ops.
Finally, keep a lookout for birds, as many different types hang out around here.response / report this review -

If you can manage the 4 1/2 hour drive from Reykjavik, this is the most extraordinary place to visit. Icebergs break off the glacier at the back of the tidal inlet and float down towards the sea getting captured in the mouth of the inlet. The peaceful and beautiful, the colours are amazing. Parking is free, there is a small cafe and also toilet facilities. You can walk around the side of the lagoon and down onto the black sand "diamond" beach, where icebergs that have made it down to the sea sit washed up giving a beautiful contrast. My favourite place we visited in Iceland. Hope you love it too!
