The breakfast was fantastic (perfectly cooked eggs with runny yolks, thick slab bacon), honestly the best of the various places we stayed at. The rooms were standard, the clerks were very helpful and talkative about potential itineraries.

This hotel was perfect! Vala, one of the owners, was so amazing, kind, and helpful. Since my husband and I were the first ones to check in, she let us choose our room. I thought that was really cool since you're usually assigned a room prior to arriving at your hotel. Since this was a smaller, family owned hotel, it definitely had a comfortable feeling right away. Vala even made our dinner! The views are incredible and there are gorgeous waterfalls right by the hotel. We wish we could have stayed here forever!

Just finished our stay at Hotel Selid. We were blow away with everything they have to offer. First, the drive from the highway to the hotel is breathtaking. We loved how isolated it is. The owners are wonderful and helpful. Then there was the curry. OMG. You have to get the lamb curry with cous cous. We will definitely come back if we ever get to Iceland again. We also got to see the northern lights from right outside out room. We stayed in 4 different places during our trip to Iceland and Hotel Selid was hands down our favorite.

This is a small hotel with a huge commitment to comfort and guest satisfaction. We were treated as family, well fed, and we were able, on the second night, to fulfill one of my wife's Bucket List items: Northern Lights! They let us turn down the lobby lights and we sat looking out over the vast open space till we saw a flash of light across the sky and went out in to the cold night for a fantastic show! It is remote and there are trails out to small waterfalls and springs. Just a joyful visit! I can recommend strongly for couples as well as families!

My wife and I both agree this was our favorite place we stayed on our trip! Everything from the rooms, staff, and beautiful surroundings was perfect. A great location to see the northern lights as it is nestled in the hills well away from any other lights and traffic. We both loved it and would highly recommend.

My girlfriend and I stayed for an evening, on our first stop down to the south coast, and we wished we could have stayed longer. The place is wonderful, cozy, and it's in the perfect location. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We would come back in a heartbeat! Thank you!

Tiny hotel lost in the middle of a greenfield. Although it is 10 minutes from the highway, you can't see any trace of civilization. The hostess is so genuine and friendly, she adds to the coziness and warmth of the place
