the menu is simple and the food is tasty but on the slight heavy side. the atmosphere is convivial with some cute decoration touch. oh did i mentioned the skyr dessert is so light its like eating foam !!

Von aussen sah es nach nichts besonderes aus. Mit der Fischsuppe konnte ich erst nach der dritte Portion aufhören. Die Bedienung war einfach aber sehr nett. Durchaus empfehlenswert.

Da fuori sembrava una baracca, dentro abbiamo trovato un Ambiente accogliente e un'ottima cucina; con la zuppa di pesce ho smesso solo dopo la terza porzione. Il servizio era semplice ma molto simpatico.

Very nice dinner, food 4.5 star-ish. Tasty, for health nuts a bit heavy on the butter. Complimentary filter coffee (no espresso based coffee). Downstairs very cosy. Upstairs feels more sterile but offers a lot of space also for larger groups and overflow during peak times. Very friendly staff and clean bathroom.

Bottomline: great restaurant if you're staying locally or passing through, although not a destination on its own.

We hit probably a bad time with our choice to have our dinner at the Heimsendi. Due to the lots positive comments at TripAdvisor we expected more than a bistro. As well we got a table just close to the kitchen door wich was due a parallel celebration on the 1st level used very often. And there were other free tables, but ok. As 2nd they don't have a menu and the very friendly staff counted us the things they have. From my point of view it would be very helpful to get an visual overview of the meals and a little time to think about. So, we heard it and have to choose now. Later as we ask for the bill at the desk we found out that there was some specials painted on a small screen above them but no one show us this overview.

The meals was served very fast and the wolffish (although it was fried 😕) taste very good.

Finally maybe we hit the wrong day and time with a little stress for the staff, but we hope the other days it is a little more smiling and willing to make his guests happy. ;-)

As conclusion the meals taste good and will serverd very fast, as well the position direct on the fjord is good, but you have to hit a good time to fulfil your own expections regarding the positive comments from other guests.
