I was in the may some days in the camp because I had to interrupt because of an injury my trip. I saw many people coming and going, no one was disappointed. The restaurant has a living room. There is a piano where talented guests played small concerts. Svana is the good soul who cares for the guests. The food was incredibly good and I did not expect to find anything like this in this area. If you are looking for comfort, you should stay in Rejkjavik. In Bjarkalundur you will find real warmth and hospitality, as I have experienced them in the course of my journey, no second time. Not as nice as it used to be, but an OK stop if you need go top up your car or get something to eat. Food can be great, but sometimes it's not.

A little isolated on your way into the West fjords. It looks well equipped for tourists in tge high season and was dead in mid-September when we came through. We're served by the owners and the food was just basic hamburger fries and pizza. It's also a gas station and sits overlooking a nice fjord although I didn't see a nice view from inside. It was all a little odd.

Was staying in Reykhólar and came up here for dinner since the only place for food in Reykhólar was closed. Had a very good but pricey fresh fish dinner here.

Restaurant offers good quality food and drinks throughout the day. They also have a machine producing espresso, latte etc.

Bonus: there is a roughly 2-3 hour round trip walk to the two-headed mountain behind the hotel (the two rocky "nipples" sticking out from the gentle slope). Amazing view over the bays on either side of the peninsula and the hinterland, plus a really fun climb up the rocky peaks (at a roughly 45 degree angle, the final climb up the chimney between the two peaks is also rather kid-friendly once the kids are old enough to be careful). To enter the path, go on the right of the hotel to the last wooden hut; follow the path behind the hut and find the wooden ladder over the fence; then keep walking towards the peak (path disappears every once in a while but it's hard to get lost - consider using wikiloc app).

Hotel also offers a little mini mart and a gas station.
