On the plus side we were in a new and very quiet building. The one towel and one pillow made it not as comfortable as it could of been. But the wifi was good. Breakfast was a nice offering and the service was friendly. We were expecting cabins and the 1 towel and 1 pillow and paper towels in the batbroom, plus no black out blinds made us give it only 3 stars. Other than that it was clean and hospitable.

This place is ok and if you can't find anything else you will be fine here. However, there are a few issues. The staff is hard-working and diligent, but also a bit clumsy. The keys fit all the doors (of the rooms as well as the cabins), their main building (two storeys) smells funny and the rooms are very small and way (but way) overpriced. All in all a bit disappointing. The scenery/location is great, though.

Nice sea view.
Room was still under construction. Electric plugs are not safe (see pictures). Light in the bath was too dark. In the other bath or smells bad.
The lamb was cold and well done. We ordered medium and hot. In there second try it was hot but still not medium.

There literally are just two places you can go find food to eat in within 45 miles so Vegetarians beware. They don't allow / have facilities for eating / making your own food either so people with kids need to go through a bit of pain to organise kid food.

But the location is simply out of the world.

Recommend if you are this side of Iceland. So Beautiful! Great place to stay if you plan on going to diamond beach, glacier lagoon, largest glacier in Europe etc

Our group of 5 turned into 6 at the last minute including one with a freshly broken leg. The staff at Gerdi's was incredibly accommodating, compassionate, and kind. They made it work for us to all stay in one room, and to be on the ground floor (instead of upstairs where they had planned to have us). The room they gave us was clean and functional (including an en suite bathroom with walk-in shower for our person on crutches). They even let our broken person rest comfortably in their common area the next day while the rest of us went on our scheduled ice cave tour. All of their staff went above and beyond the "requirements" of a typical hospitality establishment, and we were very grateful and impressed with all of them. Highly recommended for a family-feel and being well-taken care of. Wonderful people.

Terriblevery terrible..!!! Dont recomend anyone stand here. Dont run heat, old infraestructure, horrible rooms with a bad and terrible wifi signal, and worsebad treat.

We got here without knowing what to find. We want a place to camp! We paid 900 each and they offered a free shower, free coffee or tea and a room with tv, and sofa to lie on!!! The people over there is very friendly. Also for 1900 You can have breakfast! The view over the Lake was really nice.
Totally recommend, budget and comfortable!!!

Not too bad, but pricey!

Pros:
Great location! 10min from the ice beach. Great views to the sea and mountains.
Comfortable beds. (two singles)
Private bathroom.
Free tea/coffee in the dining area.

Cons:
Very expensive.
Food in restaurant is crazy expensive! USD45 per plate for mediocre food. ++for drinks.
No soap/shampoo in room.
No bath mat.
Very thin walls.
No kettle in room.

Although the view around was superb, the room had some problems like the shower was broken. Also there are very few food options on the menu and that too very expensive.

Loved the experience of staying here. We reached there in the evening after the dinner time was up but the still the staff arranged some bread and soup for us the view from the window was just amazing. I would highly recommend anyone visiting here to stay.

It's a room, and expensive one Co sidering the prices I paid elsewhere for a full cabin or use of a kitchen. But, if this is the area you expressly want, it's nice enough. Lots of tour buses seem to stop here and it's a 2 minute walk to where Glacier Adventure Tours meets up.
Breakfast is good, but extra. There is free wifi.

This small hotel is basically located in the midst of nowhere on the south coast of Iceland. The rooms are pretty small but I believe people come here only for a day or two so pretty decent for that. You can get an amazing view of the Atlantic ocean on one side and the volcanic mountain on the other. Also breakfast was inclusive.

Good location, 10 mins drive from the glacier. We stayed at the new building I guess. It's behind the main building. The main downside is that it does NOT have kettle in the room. We wanted to have some warm tea or coffee after watching northern lights outdoor, we had to go to the main building to get hot water. They offer free hot water , tea and coffee in the main building.

We stayed here on a group tour and to say the place is rustic is generous. Perhaps the main building was nicer, but the building where we stayed (which was a drive of several minutes from the main building) was not what we were hoping for. There was no TV in the rooms, not even shampoo or soap in the bathroom, we had to share a bathroom with 5 other people and the restaurant (which is the only place around to eat) is ridiculously expensive. The food isn't bad, but for that price, I'd expect a credentialed chef to be preparing my food.

Being about 10 minutes from glacier lagoon made it the best overnight spot for a trip out there . They have a restaurant on site, and while tasty, quite expensive. Room was adequate and basic (beds, closet, tv, and tables). Be aware that the closest store or gas station is about 40min away.
