Seljavellir Guesthouse is a pleasant, if basic hotel on the outskirts of Hofn. They offer a solid breakfast with your room. For more amenities, they are about 5-10 minutes away from Hofn which has restaurants, a grocery store, pharmacy, and Vinbudin. Staff were friendly and helpful. A very good overnight experience on our way around the Ring Road.

One of the best 1 night stays I have had! Northern Lights appeared over the hills behind the rooms, the rooms had everything you needed and were laid out brilliantly for 2 people with laptops with a desk, 2 beds and bathroom and not overly priced when you have the town of Hofn a 5 minute drive

The receptionist was very helpful and nice when I checked in. She was able to get me checked in in just a few mins. The rooms itself is beautiful but one drawback is ventalation. There is none. When you take a hot steamy shower or poop get ready to smell the afterwards. There is windows which you can opened but that opens up for potential animals or people to peek in. Love the all included breakfast though! Had all food items you can think of eggs, pancakes, bread, bagel, coffee and juice

Great lodging and a bit remote for Northern Lights viewing (though we didn't see the lights during our 1-night stay). Ask for a room facing the mountain side.

Didn't get to actually stay here, but I wanted to say that they were very friendly over the phone. We got stuck by a closed road on the way to the seljavellir guesthouse and were not able to make it there. The employee who I talked to a couple times was very understanding, and was able to refund me fully.

We only need one word: perfect!!! The room was perfect with a great view. The breakfast was amazing! It was small but delicious. Never got a better breakfast than here. Next time we'll have a sleepover here again.

Great Guest House/hotel located just outside of Hofn. Beautiful setting, neat and clean rooms, convenient location for visiting nearby glaciers.

What a great guesthouse this was! The owner was absolutely kind and wonderful, she made us feel comfortable and at home! The decor of the rooms are outstanding - modern and functional. The washroom was quite interesting too, never seen anything like it! The views in the morning of the sunrise above the mountains was a beautiful site to sip some coffee and enjoy. There is free wifi and breakfast on offer here. Would definitely stay here again!

Friendly owners and manager. Clean rooms. Great spot for viewing aurora as it is secluded. Only drawback is that all the rooms open to the walk way so you can't leave your curtians open. Also it would be great if they made a jacuzzi and sauna.

Showed up at 2am without a reservation and the owner made sure we were safe and had a place to sleep. All the hotels and hostels were booked in the surrounding areas. After we suggested that we would sleep in our car in the parking lot, she made us two cots in her dining room. She made sure we had breakfast before we went on our way. She is probably the nicest lady I have ever met.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, plenty of room for a couple. The bathrooms are also nice and updated. We loved the breakfast that was served here also. Everyone was very friendly at check in and check out :)

We had a great experience at this guesthouse. The reception is on the left, passed the rooms. The interior is clean and new, and very cozy. The view is beautiful, and the hostess is very kind and welcoming. The breakfast that is served is fresh and abundant. Highly recommended.
