Highly recommended! One of the best stays we had during our trip to Iceland. The room and the house was very clean and neat. Sofi was very friendly and welcoming, thanks to her, we met some great locals which gave us a lot of recommendations of places to visit around Hofn.

Comfy bed and excellent shower. Would’ve liked to have had breakfast for the price, but being that the hotel is in a town, we were able to get pastries and the like at a local supermarket.

We found this place to be warm and cosy. Our roim and share bathroom were immaculately clean. There is parking right outside. Rooms were of a goid size (but i did not see any others). Staff were friendly. A short stroll from supermarket and restaurants. Kitchenette available for tea and coffee, fridge and microwave. Quiet room.

Loved this cozy guesthouse! Our room was spacious and clean, but my favorite part were the bathrooms with the heated floors! Their bathrooms were the nicest I experienced in any of the AirBNBs and guesthouses I stayed in during my trip. There is also a great kitchen for preparing your own meals. The rooms are easily within walking distance of the main part of the town and several tasty restaurants.

Great place to stay. Rooms are spacious. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen was on the small side, not a lot of room to move if there is more than two people trying to cook. Could do with a freestanding stove and washing machine. Bathrooms have underfloor heating which is nice during winter. The place felt clean and warm. Staff member was nice and friendly.

We were trying to get to Akureyri but with road closures in the winter we had to stop somewhere for the night. Somehow we ended up at The House on the Hill and it was the best stay we've had in Iceland!
The owner(?) Thordess (spelling?) was very friendly and just overall nice especially after a long rough drive. She accommodated us last minute which made it so much easier for us. The guesthouse was practically empty except for one other young couple because it's low season so we had the place pretty much to ourselves. Thordess gave us the largest room upstairs and it was so comfy!
The beds were great. The pillows were perfect! The washrooms were amazingly clean and everything felt new and tech savvy. I think the shower had heated floors. You could adjust the bathroom temperature yourself. The views in the room were great - we faced the mountains. The kitchen downstairs was very well equipped and just so clean and convenient. We've never seen a mini stove top on top of the mini oven - it was really neat! Just make sure you have the common courtesy to clean up after yourself so that the next guests can use the kitchen and feel the same cleanliness you did.
Check in and check out was super convenient. We slept like a baby at The House on the Hill. Best stay in Iceland! Would definitely stay here again if I come back!response / report this review -

Its a lovely place to stay. New and clean for a good price (81€/night). The only thing is that there is no hotplate in the kitchen to cook.

Great first impression from the warm and welcoming lady that greeted us. She creates a nice relaxed atmosphere. Booked a small room and we're really surprised at how spacious it was. Really modern, clean, and we'll presented guest house with spectacular views. We were a bit dubious about having a shared bathroom but this didn't pose and issue. The tea and coffee was really appreciated, the only issue was the rubbish pillows!

Very cute and clean! The washrooms and kitchenette / lounge are shared among all the guests. There is a fridge and freezer in the kitchenette. No breakfast.

Amazing place. Private bedroom with shared kitchen and bathrooms. Very friendly and accommodating staff We didn't arrive till 9 pm and she was more than happy to let us in.
