  The room is beautiful and with a perfect Lake view, it is so beautiful that we can see the frozen lake. The lobby was nicely decorate during Christmas period. They have swimming pool but it come with a price.
  We stayed on Dec.25th and 26th. and had both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant as everything(yes everything) was close during Christmas. the and breakfast was delicious and high quality. The parking is just in front of the hotel.

  We stayed in Lake Hotel guesthouse Egilsstadir on Dec.27th. and had both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant.During the dinner, they didn't have the type of tea that I was looking for (jasmine tea) so I requested hot water- it is served and they did charge (tea price) on the bill for hot water (by the way it is from the tap.They don't boil the botteled water) when I asked about this.. they said it is a regular practice from their side which I have never seen anywhere else.. You need to be careful when you first enter your room because of the high block on the floor without a warning

  stopped by this place for lunch on a road trip, the food was fabulous. service was prompt, views were amazing, and taste was excellent. two thumbs up.

  We were on a roadtrip and end up in this city on december 31st (we got a airbnb there). But of course, on Jan 1st everything is closed and we got a hard time with my gf to find a place where to eat until we found this guest house: the restaurant is great: good food, cozy place and great service.

  Stopped here briefly for a late lunch. Eating a tasty Icelandic meat stew while gazing across the lake was a great way to refuel before the journey to Lake Myvatn.

  The restaurant makes excellent arctic charr with a sauce that tastes like heaven, the lamb was excellent too, and so tender it just melted in the mouth. If you're a food lover, this is an absolute must do!

  The restaurant is recommended by our hotel owner and all the positive reviews are not overstatements. The restaurant serves amazing food. We had burger and a lamb dish - both fantastic! The place has also got great service and nice decor. So it definitely deserves five star rating
