We stayed in the house and if you want to get in touch with Islandic people, want to know about their live and feel warm hospitality in a private home and get delicious selfmade food - this is the right place to go! Sigga and Bragi are the nicest hosts! When I think of Island I think of Grimsstadir - even we only stayed two nights there.

Not a 5 star facility but in this area, this is probably one of the few locations you can stay or camp on freezing Icelandic nights in September. The guest house was warm and with all amenities we could have asked for in this land of nowhere!

We got here pretty late around 9:30pm and couldn't find the campsite. The whole place was quite remote like middle of nowhere leading with secondary road. So we went up to the last house and rang the bell. The host is a very friendly grandpa and he came out. He tried to tell us where the site was. But it was late so everything was dark and they were far away so we couldn't figure it out. Then he decided to take us there by driving in front of us. It was so nice of him! He also let us pay in the morning.
The site is minimal with just cold water (freezing cold!! We came in September) and toilet, but very clean and very well managed! You can hear the streams running behind the campsite. Since it's in the middle of nowhere and it's so dark, we saw so many stars and even spotted aurora! We had a great night at this place and had a pleasant chat with the host in the morning as well. Nice place to experience remote camping!

Decent little campground with reasonable prices, and some shelter from the wind. Unfortunately, we had noisy neighbours while there, but the toilets and sinks were functional, and you can pay by credit card. The host seemed pleasant.

We came here with our camper van to spend a night. Perfectly friendly hosts. It is very quiet here compared to other campsites. Thus the toiletes are very clean. They have running warm water but no shower.
    We enjoyed it a lot.
