Nice area where you can hike from Landmannalaugar. Beautiful views from the top of the hills.

The most beautiful place in the world. Breathtaking. You see all colours and a variety of rocks and plants. It's fantastic. Do go!

Beautiful scenery for sure, but here isn't a cabin nor a hot pond at this place. You probably can find both of them a few kilometers away at both campsites next to that area. But for sure not here at this marking. Bit sad because I really hoped to warm me up a little

The interesting part is getting here as you need to cross lots of water ways. Hot pool at the place itself, toilets, information etc. When we visited the place it was crowded (July 2017). you get to see a lot of "off road vehicles"

Absolutely amazing place. Great hikes. The colors of the mountains sure stunning as is the view from one of the mountaintops. I would tell you which one we climbed but I am terrible with Icelandic names. After your walk you can have a nice soak in a natural heated pool. Quite busy in summer though.

Fantastic bunkhouse with loads of room and a really clean spacious shower/toilet block. The place was really warm, even in February. The hot spring was great.

Very difficult off-road drive to get here, for a tour driver. It took 2 tries. Not much to do when you get there, snow is extremely deep. The natural hot spring isn't actually that hot either

This place leaves you speechless. I didn't even care about the rough terrain we had to travel through. Every bump, every turn just lead to more majestic beauty.
Obviously if you're visiting this place, you have to have an AWD or 4x4 as this is an unpaved road with rocks and some river crossings.
We took route F208 from Vik and took us almost 3 hours to arrive. I stopped frequently throughout the drive because I had to take pictures.
There are many hiking trails you can do and a natural hot springs near the information center. I would recommend camping for a night of you have the equipment as one day is just not enough for this place!response / report this review -

One of the top spots in iceland. Definitely one of the must see place: try to stop a night there, enjoy hiking and bath in the hot pot
