The lamb shank was probably one of the tastiest I've ever had! Cooked 12 hours in one of the ales then complimented with mushroom gravy/sauce - who knew?!
Great beer selection and I love that the paddle is shaped as a axe.
The staff are super friendly! Can't wait to go back :)

Food is great and beer selection is out of this world! A good mix of classic Icelandic dishes, along with some American fare, perfect for anyone's tastes. Happy hour every day from 1600-1900 means 2 beers for the price of 1. Staff is all very friendly and attentive.

Outstanding food thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Central location and excellent service would highly recommend. Great drinks selection too. Very busy place but rightly so for such a fab meal!

We went there for some beer after a sightseeing tour but we were disappointed.
The service did not bother for our visit and preferred to be more friendly to other guests.
We have been ignored for a while and the service was not that good.
The ordered snacks were okay but the vegan sausages were too spicy and over- flavored.
The ambiente was comfortable.

Very tasty food and they have vegan options so that's was a benefit for my friend. The staff were also very knowledgeable and helpful about the ingredients. Nice decor and atmosphere, but can get cold near the door if it's busy!

A fantastic place to visit for every type of person. Vegans too! Food is amazing and their friendly staff are all very welcoming. Their Vegan selection is broad and tastes great according to my partner haha

Great place for food, and even better for beer! They have a great range, and the bar staff are excellent in pointing you in the right direction. Draft Einstok White Ale is the best beer, and this is the best place to drink it. Great atmosphere, and I cannot recommend the happy hour enough - it's two for one which was even better as my wife doesn't drink!!!

Supposedly very good fish and chips - indeed they were good - but not actually good enough to be memorable.

Didn't explore the beer selection too much, but it was fairly modest, yet perfectly in line with what's common in the area.

Coincidentally went in during happy hour, which considering the price of beer in Iceland is nice timing by the universe. The service was friendly and the bartender was a beer fan himself and talked a bit about that.

The onion rings were a huge bowl worth, but the batter was nice and not too greasy. Also, Icelandic meat soup and the Peking duck steamed buns were delicious.

Enjoyed the steak sandwich and the bacon appetizer (literally just a cup full of bacon) after being out in the country for a few days. The sweet potato fries were also quite good.

If you’re traveling from the U.S. a couple of notes. Don’t expect to be waited on the same way you’re used to, but if you want something just ask. Servers in Iceland are a bit more standoffish but willing to help when called upon. Secondly, we got a bit better rate by paying with our card in ISK rather than USD. You’ll be given an option many times so just check out the exchange your card gives you vs the option on the card machine.

The food and beer selection excellent and the service was very attentive. Most importantly, there is a 2 for 1 happy hour on draft beer. Every day. We started with the fried sourdough bread, which was covered in cheese and served with a delicious sun-dried tomato pesto. So freaking good. I also got the bearnaise chicken sandwich, and I actually moaned out loud on my first bite. The bearable was flavorful and well-seasoned and the chicken was tender and juicy. Combined with the crispness of the toasted bread and the saltiness of the bacon, it was a little bit of heaven in my mouth.

Met up with some friends from Reykjavik here and wasn't sure what to expect. I had the vegan sausage and was delicious. Fun place in a great location, definitely worth a visit.

Loved this place. Food was excellent, quite possibly the best burger I've ever eaten. Viking beer on happy hour was probably the best value I found in Iceland. Definitely worth a visit.

When I walked in a grabbed a seat I was quickly met by the bartender who gave me some great suggestions for beers to try out based on my tastes. I was there during their Happy Hour which is conveniently during supper so I also had a delicious falafel burger with potato wedges. The atmosphere is very cozy with some nice background music. The staff are very nice and knowledgeable on their vast selection of beer. In terms of food it seemed a little pricier than other restaurants I was at but the quality was still there. Lots of options for anyone, including vegetarian and vegan meals or appetizers. Would highly recommend if spending some time in Reykjavik!

My partner and I stumbled across this on our first night after a very long day travelling/waiting for buses etc. Decided to pop in as the 4-7 happy hour caught our eye. We were not disappointed by the menu either. A bit different to the bistro/a la carté menus on offer elsewhere but no doubt the food is as good/of not better for a fraction of the price. Currently on our 3rd day and we've eaten here twice in the evenings. If you're looking for good food which won't cost the Earth. This is the place to be!

This is quite possibly the home of the best sandwich I have ever had in my life! Enjoyed the food, beer, and atmosphere so much, that our group ended up eating or drinking here on quite a few occasions in our one week trip. Tops my list as best restaurant in Reykjavik.

More of a ski chalet feel than its competitors though strangely quiet on a Saturday night. Decent ales on tap and a piano available to play, an offer that the locals seem to take up. Cheaper than its neighbours with a happy hour available.

This was by far the best meal I had in my 10 day stay in Iceland. The staff was so wonderful and paired with a fantastic meal it was the highlight of our dining. We loved it so much the first time that we went back again! The onion rings are so incredible and the sauces are a perfect pairing. Wish there was one in Canada.
