Super service.
Theyre motto is Yes we can
Last september, we rent a car at Europcar Reykjavik with high level of insurance cover. During the trip, a truck has doubled us and a little rock hit a glass. We immediately went to a local office at Akureyri to secure the impact. There the Europcar guy said "this is tinny impact, there won't be any problem". But when we get back the car at Reykjavik, we have shown the impact and they told us that this kind of trouble happen all the time in Iceland but the insurance didn't cover it and made us pay 20 000 ISK of fees (around 200€) ! Unprofessionnal staff, differents informations from an office to another, bad advice for the insurance cover, they only see opportunity to get an additional payoff
I didn't try other rent companies in Iceland but I highly disrecommend Europcar.
We ordered the car via TUI in Germany so everything was easy. Small scratches and small damages in the glass aren't problematic in island.
Good service, polite and professional crew.
We was ordering 3 Toyota land cruisers, but they only had 2 so we got a Mitsubishi Pajero instead. It's OK but we was specifically asking to have land cruisers.
Although the Pajero did the job perfectly 👍 we had som great days driving Island by our own.
We forgot to refuel the car when returning it so we got small bill for that. And that is of course fair 👍
All in all a good experience😊
Be VERY careful with the hidden fees and money conversion with the icelandic krona. I had a reservation for "x" amount and was charged for "y". I did not take any additional insurances, options, etc. however at the end of the day paid for more than what my reservation said. When given the documentation to sign, I asked "is this the same amount as my reservation", and the Eurocar representative said "yes". I came home to find out that was not the case. Be cautious.
Great deal and lovely staff. If you want they'll drive you for free back to your hotel when you're done with the rental.
Friendly service. They have a deal with N1 gas stations for gas discounts. They provide you with a guidebook and have 24 hour contact numbers in case you need anything.
The car was clean and handled well all the way around the island. We returned the car a day early and they refunded us the difference.
A glitch in their computer gave me a low price which the manager promised to honor. I was held hostage when I broght the car back two days later and forced to pay 600.00 dollars for two days. They then charged more than what they said they were going to. I had to pay to catch a flight. Beware of this company. Book with a well known company like sixt.
Friendly staff. Close to motorway but a bit far from city centre. You will need a taxi
The location is great (way better than the other Europcar around). I returned the car after i ate in KFC. The persons who work there are nice too
not the most convenient location to get to (bus from town then walk through carparks ..?), make sure you check your booking, I was about to drive away without the GPS system which I had paid for. GPS system did not have updated maps, which meant that the dang thing kept alarming, and did not have all the points of interest you would expect (Blue Lagoon was listed in the Icelandic spelling only, not also in english). Also note that there is one section of road on the east coast that is not sealed, so even if you drive the ring road only, you will end up on gravel!
Really friendly people, everything went smoothly in the road trip. They even dropped us off at our hotel which was nice
Great car, great customer services. When we rented the car, they were very friendly and answered all our questions about the car (and general things about Iceland). I lost an ipod in the car and it was posted back to my home when I contacted them.
Great bunch of lads
