This is one ultimatum. If you see whales, it’s 5 stars. If you don’t, you won’t like it. Very rocky, better bring your seasick pills. People might vomit. Great experience though

This was an awesome experience!! The guides are very informative and friendly, and they let you know where to look when a whale, dolphin, etc. is spotted in the water. You will be offered sea sickness tablets multiple times before the boat starts to drive- TAKE THEM. Even if you've never gotten sea sick on a boat before, take the tablets. There is hot chocolate and coffee available inside the boat which was wonderful for us since it was so cold outside during our excursion. I highly recommend an Elding tour, you will have an amazing time and learn a lot!!

While you can't be garanteed to see whales the informative gift shop museum was great. Learn about a major Icelandic attraction from really friendly and enthusiastic guides. It can be significantly COLDER on the water but they have jumpsuits to wear if you need.

Brilliant. We were warned that we might not see anything but after 50 minutes we saw the first of dozens of humpbacks. We saw 3 other species and the guide was excellent.

Went out for 3 hours and never saw anything! But good boat ride. It would be better to go in the summer months,then you will have more of a chance of seeing some marine life!

Nice ship, great crew and nice experience even if we didn't get to see whales. They provide anti sea sickness tablets so take them well before the ship sales.

Went on an afternoon in the end of November. A breezy overcast day and didn't spot anything. Antiemetic was provided but some people was still throwing up and didn't have a good time. Complementary tickets were provided due to the fact that we didn't spot any wild life. Tickets valid for two years but are not transferable. Water and wind proof suits are provided.

Their souvenir shop was NOT able to provide proper receipt for VAT claim.

Nice trip (if the weather is good). We saw a few whales and dolphins. Nice museum with both history and whale parts.

We really enjoyed our whale watching! We saw humpback whales, minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbour porpoises, puffins, and arctic terns (on June 29 in the afternoon).
Our tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, kind, and made the trip wonderful. In particular, he explained the significance of the types of whales and birds we saw. It was especially impressive that he did the whole talk in English and then German, as there were many German-speaking passengers. There were also staff proficient in Spanish, French, and Italian on board.
He also described the particular efforts that Elding takes to whale watch in the most responsible way possible. For instance, they take care not to surround the whales with the other ships.
All in all, it was an experience of a lifetime.

We managed to see two Humpback whales and two dolphins. The staff were very courteous and professional. We learned a lot during our tour and I'd recommend Elding to anyone.

Underwhelming expensive trip. Perfect conditions, saw 6 monky. Black blobs on the surface. A trip without porpoise really.

While we did supposedly see Minke, Humpback and harbour porpoises, they were quick glances. They briefly surface to breath then disappear again. One Minke was maybe less than 10m from the boat, the rest were far. Save your money and visit a country like Mexico or Australia where the whales breed, swim with their young and jump out of the water.
That's no fault of this company, that's just the reality of whale watching in Iceland

Decent experience no whales this time (wrong season please check before booking) but we got to see some dolphins but it's all dependent on nature the crew are experienced and know where to look but never the less you will get to see some great scenery. Bad points are the bar staff was very arrogant and liked to keep people waiting and the driver on the way back was a bit dicey hit the kerb a few times and decided to use his phone whilst driving a large vehicle at speed.

I imagine if you are lucky enough to see some whales then it would have been amazing, unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. Staff were friendly and hotel pick up was efficient.
