  The crater is beautiful and has some nice views from the top, but the walk there is pretty plain looking

  Great hike to occupy yourself for a couple of hours. Not particularly challenging and well-trodden, which might not be to everyone's liking. The views from the crater rim are great, but then great views are in abundance in Iceland! Not far from a couple of quiet hot springs.
