Really really nice place, mostly little windy but awesome view in all directions.
Wish I could give less than one star there is literally nothing besides a parking lot on this campsite, no showers & no bathrooms. They are charging 1000 ISK per person just to park with ZERO amenities.
Nothing special here. Facilities are ok. There is a museum and a restaurant.
As of January 2018, the bathrooms have been closed due to unsanitary conditions. The nearby restaurant was nice enough to let us use theirs but they are not open all night.
This is an attractions and a camping site in a same place. The wind very strong, and the lighthouse very beautiful at night, but if the toilet is cleaner, it will be a very good place to stay overnight.
Good place for an overnight stay if you arrive or go to the airport. quiet and large area, but nothing spacial. No showers. Just a small hut with 2 toilets and washing area.
The situation is outstanding, the restaurant nearby is ok, with good WiFi and adequate food. The toilets, when we visited, were revolting - blocked WCs that did not drain, and overflowing waste bins.
No shower, but a really nice place :)
Beautiful location, though quite windy and exposed as it is a peninsula. Toilets were very smelly and the bins were overflowing. Toilets are public toilets so not exclusive to the campsite. Lots of supplies left by people, good place to start and pick up camping gas and other foodstuff. Lovely beach and there is a cafe in the old lighthouse.
Go there to get free stuff, when you start your camping trip. Seems most people camp here, the day/night before they fly home from Keflavik. We did the same, and left a lot of stuff we didn't need anymore (canned food, camping chairs, propane gas). Site only has two toilets.
Plenty of space, very reasonable price, and the owner is friendly. Lovely views, interesting lighthouses, long sandy beach walks, and plenty of wildlife around.
However, it loses a star on account of there only being two toilets which are not exclusive to the camping site - they're shared with the rest of the public, and therefore are in poor condition.
But a very pleasant place to stay as long as you don't mind the basic facilities.
Beautiful view at sunset.
We camped at this site for two nights, spread by a week. The campsite is essentially a parking lot, with a couple WC's, and a non-functioning lighthouse. The sea crashes upon the rocks meters from your car. Both nights we slept here, the rain was moderate but the winds were heavy. The atmosphere was very pleasant, if you're open to nature. One of the WC's doors wouldn't close the first night, and I believe there was a tissue outage crisis one night as well; those are the reasons for the lost star. Keep in mind this is not a luxury site, but it isn't a poop-in-the-woods site either.
End of the world location.
