Stopped by this place on May 22, 2018. Seems to be closed, maybe only open in the summer? Seems their website indicates summer only.
Went here on my first night in Iceland. We both ordered the lobster soup which was amazing. It was silky and perfectly rich, and the lobster was perfect. There was this side of possibly sundried tomato paste with bread that was delicious as well. We both ordered the tagliatelle pasta with shrimp and lobster in it and that was just as good. They sell desserts separately downstairs and looks like a lot of people come to order dessert to go. The atmosphere is super cute and cozy upstairs which I didn't even notice from the outside or when the lady said our table was ready, it was a lovely surprise.
Amazing lobster soup, the place is cozy (dining room upstairs), and the service is friendly
Fantastic homely restaurant with phenomenal food. Service was great, a big selection of beers were available and the price (by Icelandic standards) was decent. Would definitely return!
I got the lobster soup. It was the perfect thickness and generous lobster serving.
Excellent food - I had the pasta with lobster and shrimp and it was awesome. Great garlic cream sauce. My mother had the lamb and it was also phenomenal. We split the chocolate truffle cake and again it was great. Friendly service, great ambiance, not too crowded for an early dinner.
Great food, friendly staff and service. If I was in town for two days I'd definitely have gone back. Picked it from its google rating so good to see the stars align!!
Very good place to eat. Food is 5 star. Waiters are friendly , but they should be more smart in terms of seating and managing clients. No reservation in advance- whats very bad:(
You should ask if the lunch buffet is available that day. They don't have the buffet everyday. The regular menu was wonderful. I had a very delicious lobster pasta meal. Very nice service.
We decided to have dinner here after checking out some reviews, and we were quite disappointed. Explains why we were the only ones at the restaurant. Nice ambiance and environment, though!
They had an interesting mix for a lunch buffet, including such varied items as sushi, cheesy broccoli casserole, quinoa, and pickled herring. The tuna sushi didn’t look particularly good, so I stuck with unagi, which is cooked. All of the rest of the food was fine. Perfectly good for providing sustenance before hopping in a car and driving awhile.
Awesome place. Great set-up, we didn't have to wait for a table. We came in from hiking as had many others, but some people were dressed a little nicer. Lobster soul was fantastic! Everyone else at our table loved what they ordered. Great staff, perfect experience!!!
Loved this restaurant! Our guesthouse owner recommended this restaurant to have dinner at and we decided to give it a go. My husband and I started out with the lobster soup which was delicious, followed by the oven baked salmon and raindeer. The salmon was tasty and the raindeer was amazing! Very happy to have tried the food at this location. The staff were nice and the restaurant was charming. I would highly recommend giving this place a shot if your in town.
Twice I attempted to eat here. Arrived at 10:05. They clearly advertise as open until 11:30 was turned away and was told drinks only after 10.
Returned next evening at 8:10 and was told there are 4 reservations ahead of me!!!
Not waiting even if it's the only restaraunt in town. Wait staff said they clearly advertise drinks only after 10.
Not visible to me!
